I'm using my time at the workshop for something useful. I found a explosives box from the county dump the other day, just the right size for small drumhardware. Now I'm making another larger box in same fashion from left over planks to haul all my hardware on gigs. Its fun to make something like this, very simple and crude kind of stuff, need only few tools and my bosses really like it when people come up with something to do there. The box I found even has a large TNT printed on the side, talk about credibility when I haul my hardware on gigs in boxes like that. :D

All I'm missing now is some fabric for the inside and outside I will paint army green... Along with TNT prints and band logos. I will post some pictures next week. Damn I like making things like this. If I would have more time there, I would make boxes for the drums too but that has to wait a while.

Not much has happened with the band this year, only few gigs, some new songs, no new release out yet... Everybody has been busy with their lives, work and school, girlfriends and what not. But I've been busy with music related stuff. My financial situation has improved so much I was finally able to switch to new drumkit and get all sort of decent drumgear. And there's more to come, hardcases, mics, analog mixed, sound board and so on and all that takes all the money I can put into it.

I also finally started my solo project / band thing. I have long wanted to have something to call my own, something on which I call all the shots. I got one song finished, second one is about halfway done and there's a intro for a third one. I'm planning a recording and release of the first demo hopefully early next year. The deadline will bend of course like it always does but soon I'll have few months off work so I plan to use that time for writing music and rehearsing. I have also joined a Finnish black metal band as a live drummer. (Their drummer does vocals at gigs and plays also drums on record so he needs somebody to do the drumming so he can do the vocals without hassle.)

Anyway, I have updated my drums. I hereby present to you the Chrome Lich, metal monstrosity of yesteryear, the very essence of old school heavy metal drum sound. Drumset can't get more 80's than this as this is THE real deal. The chrome finish is custom stuff, Yamaha never made these things with it.

Thanks. Everybody seems to love it... I'm still waiting for the academic jazz morons to go ballistic about everything being "wrong" with my drumkit. Its coming... I'm sure of it. :nutkik:

Our forum is very much dead and quiet, but who ever stumbles upon this, watch this! I used fuckton on hours on making this video and I'm very pleased with the result. Its an anime theme song cover, the legendary Ginga Nagareboshi Gin.

And I also covered the vocals. In Japanese. A Language which I don't speak much. With a classic heavy metal vocal style which I've never done on record before. This one was sure a challenge to say at least, but it came out alright. Have a listen!

If you liked the GNG cover, you're gonna love this! This years last video and the year goes out with a bang!

This one has lot of first and second times on it, second vocal cover in Japanese, first over the top power metal vocals I've done on record. First time I speak Japanese on the intro, second anime cover with both drums and vocals.... This one was so much fun to make, also quite a pain in the ass. The vocals we'rent easy and they could still be a lot better. But hey, next time around then.

Its so weird... Our lovely forum is pretty much dead, but there's +2k guests here all the time. Hello guests and have a good one!

Here's a new video for you guys to watch, 2018 is kicked in by some Finnish underground thrash metal. I made a cover of Chaos Cretion's Prmal Uprising. I sped up the song by 20%, so this one's really hard core lightspeed metal mayhem. Also this was the first actual recording with my new drumkit and these things sound amazing!

Go watch it! And subscribe my channel if you like the content!

What happens when classical music meets death metal drumming? Click the video below to find out!

Ten years ago I made my so far most popular video, the original Mozart & Blast Beat. As a little celebration I decided to revisit this old idea of playing blast beat on classical music and to update it to 2018. If you like it, go subscribe my channel! More videos are in the making. ;)
