Well see that leaves us with a sticky situation given the name that's under my avvie and the fact that from time to time I do indeed loose it and resort to most if not all forms of abuse :emb:

To clear the air I would just like to say a few things.

Gilly : I know you think I edited a post to hide something that I said to you but I swear that I did not. I understand that you have the arse with me now because of this and perhaps we have some fundamental differences of opinion but I value your input to this forum as I know do many other members here. So sorry if you feel my discussion and debate with you crossed a line or was badly handled.

Andyh : i know you think that you are superior to me and we disagree often on numerous topics perhaps in part because you look down your nose at me. Well i have a degree of respect for you but every time you try to put me down with your little comments and smilies that diminishes. Sure you can disagree with a person but is there any need to imply that they are stupid because they do not share your view?I find it disrespectful and so i will generally be avoiding discussion with you. We might respond to the same topic and i might respond to you but i will be avoiding "getting into it" as much as possible.

To anybody else who maybe has a problem with me i would simply ask that you let me know. I would probably leave the sight if a member asked me to.

Wub i know you did not like my avatar a while ago and hopefully this was not part of a bigger issue. I have seen you mention topics i have posted in but you did not name who you had a problem with. Hopefully we are cool.

Anybody who has a problem with me please tell me. I would prefer it be out in the open.

Happy new year to everybody here. I hope i didn't derail this topic.

No, not at all, the avatar thing was my problem, it's not up to you to change it, and it was very good of you to do so.

I do think that you were one person on the Sandy Hook thread who was guilty of repeating stuff over and over again. This does tend to irritate people. Of course, you have every right to your opinion, but maybe it might be a good idea to avoid doing this in the future, as when people feel strongly about something, and have gone to the effort of posting information, to have the same few people dismissing their view and seemingly ignoring what they've posted is not likely to go down well.

I is gonna chip in one more thing, there's a couple of dodgy springs on me new sofa....

No that isn't it. Gilly, I did go and check I-b's post in the Sandy Hook thread and tbf, it hasn't been edited. I think that one may have been a genuine misunderstanding. I've 'known' I-b sort of for a while now and based on that I think it would genuinely be very out of character for him to do such a thing and not fess up.

I hope you two can come to some sort of peace

As for andy and I-b I feel like making you both carry out an act that bats and me have pioneered on SZ even though I say it myself, perfected first go....:D

If you don't feel comfortable with something then don't do it. Everyone knows you've made a massive contribution, in fact I've never known a person who smokes so much weed make such effort to do anything!

The only reason I feel a bit more moderation is required is that of two threads I started recently, one I asked you to lock because I didn't want it to get personal and abusive, and another went miles off-topic and into personal comments and borderline abuse, I reminded people to get back on-topic three times, and after the third time, it died a death immediately. Now this seems to lead me to believe that the people who were posting in it weren't that interested in making a positive contribution, even when it was pointed out to them that their conduct wasn't acceptable. In fact, it was thrown back in my face both times. Which doesn't bother me, but you can't ask such people to moderate themselves, I would suggest.

I think in instances such as those you described there wub, we may be well advised to take bats up on his suggestion.
A friendly word from a facillitator may be all that's required :dunno: If not, then perhaps a friendly but firm word :dunno: If that still doesn't work then perhaps we bundle the protagonists into the cupboard and perform unspeakable acts on them :dunno:

I'm quite happy to do that, I just didn't want to put people in an invidious position. Or myself for that matter. But seeing as I already have, it doesn't really matter so much.

It's not that I feel uncomfortable with it, it's that I know myself and I'm aware that on occasions I have a vicious tongue and sometimes I let it rip and break forum rules myself. So coming down hard on other individuals is hypocritical of me and if I get away with it purely cuz I'm admin, just very wrong.
So there's the dilema from where I'm sitting :)

I don't want me, or any other mods, to have anything that makes us stand out from everyone else. That part is very important to me and others and it has to stay that way.
