True story:

At the Mason's Ladies Evenings, it's customary to pull names out of a hat for a woman on each table to be presented with a small gift, and another to win the flower arrangement off each table.
there's normally a raffle too, so if there are a few prizes picked up in one spot, people call it the lucky table.

So at one do, my sister's husband was taxed with carrying a load of gifts to hand out to some ladies, and on realising they were all seated together, he announced, "This is the luckiest table ever".

He hadn't been listening when he was told they were the presents, as per tradition, for all the widows.

it may not seem funny now, but my sister & myself were under the table laughing so much we couldn't breathe.

So was there consensus, non-posters lose posting privileges(which isn't really punishment so they won't mind)?

"a poster who does not post" is not a poster, they are a LURKER!! many sites have people who do not post, they go on and take all the information but give nothing In return. on some American sites if they don't post within a suitable time period the account is closed.

This is a small forum and a couple of persistent, disruptive trolls have been like fleas on its back for quite a while.
Rather than be confident in themselves they hide and do their best to disrupt.
Ois post makes perfect sense in that light. I no longer have any issue with it.
