2/ It may not make sense to you, but it did to her. You didn't know her, you don't know her inner thoughts and feelings. All you have is some brief text in a newspaper. But for my part I can understand if you feel you should be setting out on your career, that's really important to you and you're frightened and depressed about the future (maybe mates in similar predicament) you may feel there's no point in carrying on .

3/ Do you think her b/f could have said there there, give me a kiss, all better now and it all got sorted? They may well have been doing all they could. But one thing they couldn't do is stop 200 application from being unsuccessful.

In my experience, she could have the most caring support network of people around her but nobody would have persuaded her to not do what she did.

More importantly, if someone is going to do it - for real and not just for attention or to attract assistance - it's not something they tell ANYONE. Those of us that moan and gripe on facebook are the least likely to take our own lives...again, just in my own experience.

If you've gone through this kind of loss before, you might recognise some of the subtle signs, if you are even vaguely aware that something might be wrong. Otherwise, it's just one of those things that knocks you for six no matter how well you thought you knew that person.

As for underlying conditions, yeah probably. Haven't we all, though?
