In case some of you are unaware, last year each individual homoeopathic remedy had to be licensed. This resulted in many if not most of the producers/suppliers closing down. Weleda brand is still available and I think New Era. This was due to EU legislation. They have also been trying to do the same thing with herbs and essential oils...so far, fingers crossed they are not getting very far mainly because of the 'extraction'/production process I believe.

So, now we have this...
The European Commission is changing the European Union’s plant legislation, apparently to enhance food safety across the continent. This move has sparked a heavy opposition from many, saying that the measure will threaten seed diversity and favour large agrochemical businesses. This new law creates new powers to classify and regulate all plant life anywhere in Europe.
The “Plant Reproductive Material Law” regulates all plants. It contains restrictions on vegetables and woodland trees, as well as all other plants of any species. It will be illegal to grow, reproduce, or trade any vegetable seed or tree that has not been been tested and approved by the government, more specifically the “EU Plant Variety Agency.” [...] The new law basically puts the government in charge of all plants and seeds in Europe, and prevents home gardeners from growing their own plants from non-regulated seeds. If they did, they would now be considered criminals.

If this passes, and lets face it, it will have the weight of the major agri/pesticide/fertilizer/gmo's behind it....you can kiss goodbye to growing your own....even woodlands and parks will be at risk ffs!

They have been doing this....
The U.S. has already seen its fair share of cases where backyard gardens and rain collectors are raided by SWAT teams, shut down through regulations and otherwise intimidated out of proliferation.
from the same article....that's right...you can't even collect rainwater in some states/counties now!

As predicted when the fucking Codex Almentarius was being introduced. This is one of the most sinister things going on right now imo.

Haha twats. Every street in Europe has a grow room or two and they can't even deal with that.
This will affect seed outlets ofc, not in a good way. But then most of them are agrichem cunts anyway. Best we get networking eh...

So now gardening is an act of rebellion? Hahahahahahahahahaha

Hence the reason for my out of the box thinking in the seed bank thread knob.

I agree with Gilly, this is scary and worrying. Part of that transatlantic trade agreement shite no doubt.

Is this really true, people been talking about this for years, has it actually happened in the US apart from som isolated cases? Swat teams raiding private gardens growing a bit of veg?

Yup...I'll see if I can find some links for you...the most gobsmacking one I found was of a organic food supplier getting raided by armed SWAT and them confiscating all his stock...California I think...all caught on their security camera!

They say it may not have been a swat team and was about unpasteurised milk, my point is that many professional conspiracy bods take stories like these to back up there outlandish claims,

thats not to say people like monsanto dont want you grow your own and have complete control over all seeds, its just hard to know whats true and what isn't when people like AJ and out to sell you shit on the back of scaremongering.

Like I said in my OP, it's already happened with homoeopathic remedies, even vitamin and mineral supplements...so it will come eventually to what we can and cannot grow.

I can't answer that without looking into things. I'm talking about the UK.
A couple of years ago all the vitamins and minerals had to be removed/destroyed and re-done so to speak at lower dosage levels. At the same time several vitamin and mineral supplements that were herb based were banned or brought under such high licence fees it was no longer viable for companies to produce them.
As to homoeopathic remedies...like I explained in my OP they had to all be individually licensed at HUGE individual costs which have to have their licenses re-newed every year. When your talking of say £10,000 per remedy per year (some are like £60,000 per remedy per year) it just doesn't become viable and it has put most homoeopathic producers out of business. Thus leaving less ethical big pharma companies to step in.
Hope that helps

Yeh thanks, just trying to see what is real and not real in this issue, because i don't trust alternative media in the same way i don't trust main stream, they all have their masters and price.

Direct experience and prima facia source seems to be the definitive way, very few journalist / researchers seem to work like that now.

Theres already gardens growing stuff all over the place, I can't see how this can be enforced unless they want to drop napalm and agent orange all over the UK.

They tried to ban weed too and that didn't work out well either, it made the plants more valuable though lol.

It will be interesting to see how this plays in Europe and Britain. Much though we (rightly) criticise the police in the UK, they are relatively sensible compared to the US. I constantly see completely insane things occurring in the United States that I just cannot imagine happening in Britain, even though the sceptred isle is no stranger to complete insane things occurring.

Andy my darling...just for example....over in the States they are using the excuse to raid homesteaders, organic food producers saying they are growing weed...that's the excuse they are using....same sort of excuse used on people who are collecting rain water.....where there's a will, there's a way....napalm or agent orange not required :D

They'd be going for farms first then, theres so many small homegrowers out there they're going to have a hard time stopping it.
Then there's allotments too ofc, maybe some new council officer jobs there then lol.

Where do you think seeds come from? :p

Ergo there you have the total loss of perspective on the part of the EU. Its a totally unmanageable prospect unless you only intend to specifically regulate large seed producing business and ignore small farms/home growers who can and do produce their own seed from previous stock. In fact, if anything thats going to be a new profitable route for them that wasn't there before. But thats gov for you :)
