In other words if you want to blame skin colour for anything at any point your discussion would be better suited to Stormcunts, if you wish to discuss absolutely any other aspect of the riots then this is the place.

My point I believe theres an epidemic of black gang culture sweeping inner cities that has its roots in gangster rap etc.

I know im the big fat racist :O How dare you talk about the elephant in the living room. At the same time theres alot of white gangs the difference being these white gangs are wimps compared to these black gangs. The biggest victims from these black gangs are young black guys that end up on the slabs every year.

Are you saying white people are soft?

In my experience - which I do have through work - the difference is more the bone fide inner city kids from the really rough areas and the more middle class kids who play at being gansta before going home for their tea.

Gangs aren't a new thing either. (Some) rap might have evolved to present a pop cultural glorification of gangs, but pop music doesn't create gangs.

You're right, it doesn't.

In my opinion, poverty is the main player in gang culture. Closely followed by social stigma's of all varieties.

As has been pointed out, the vast majority of the rioters in Manchester city centre were white youths (both gang members and not) from the adjoining city of Salford.

& Salford lads soft? I don't think so...

I'll also say that (imo) those 'riots' had nothing to do with social discontent and everything to do with opportunistic looting. Unlike the Moss Side/Toxteth/Brixton rioting of the early 80's.

Hi psketti :)
It looked more like a mini Katrina operation, the policing was held back to allow it to spread , then we all saw the consequences of shop CC's camera's that ID'd kids just pinching sweets, and then (with no priors') throwing the book at them. It was disgusting to see the agenda in action.....they wanted the riots ...so to become increasingly draconian.....It'll be the Army on the Streets soon....society is already being programmed for it and by WHO.

Hi Chloe

Your mini Katrina comparison is a good one :)

And I agree they wanted it... the recent jailings for merely suggesting such a deed, be it meant or not, show that clearly.

I still think however they may have more of a fight on their hands than they want. People are pissed off. Maybe we haven't been dumbed down as much as first thought ;)

today the goverment informed the police that further cuts were to be expected £750 million worth :axe:

theres gratitude for you ,
but looking at the wider picture its clear that goverments and banks are one or two parts of the same company if you like ,
goverment was warned of unrest caused by hardship in these areas and while it happened this was repeated after the riots it was again repeated and the goverment replied mindless thugs hooligans etc

read this -
rabble.ca/news/2011/08/panic-my-city
quote -
The violence on the streets is being dismissed as "pure criminality," as the work of a "violent minority", as "opportunism." This is madly insufficient. It is no way to talk about viral civil unrest. Angry young people with nothing to do and little to lose are turning on their own communities, and they cannot be stopped, and they know it. Tonight, in one of the greatest cities in the world, society is ripping itself apart.

In one NBC report, a young man in Tottenham was asked if rioting really achieved anything:

"Yes," said the young man. "You wouldn't be talking to me now if we didn't riot, would you?"

"Two months ago we marched to Scotland Yard, more than 2,000 of us, all blacks, and it was peaceful and calm and you know what? Not a word in the press. Last night a bit of rioting and looting and look around you."

Eavesdropping from among the onlookers, I looked around. A dozen TV crews and newspaper reporters interviewing the young men everywhere.

this was on the 3rd day ,
and still the pm called it mindless violence and that mantra is repeated still ,
now the police want violins to be played for them "scared for their lives "
they were the ones in riot gear when they outnumber rioters they are brave heroes
we have lost objectivity in reporting and when it crops up its shouted down ,
now the same people who cheered the cops during riots for upholding law and order are being told by the police they were barely holding there own ,
aint that a kick in the guts ,
but no doubt spin and lack of objectivity will turn that into yet more evidence of the brutality and lack of reasoning in those rioting
when again records show that it was reasoning and discussions with gangs that stopped the riots
and it was people power that organised a massive cleanup afterwards goverment and police set about jailing people for stealing bottled water bags of rice trainers and booze , the sentences handed out spoke for themselves .

so the lesson is perhaps to watch out who you trust and check your reasons for trusting them :hedbut:

see that sounds like a classic conspiracy researcher hitting the mark ,
but is it ,
in actual fact its whats in a lot of the indie press and its based on facts but twisted into "tptb are engineering it "
why would a conspiracy theorist twist it like that ?
theres only one reason i can think of and its to get you to side with gov and police and dont look to hard for answers such as why is this happening (well youve allready been told why its happening )
conspiracy researchers are quickly falling like dominoes for just this sort of crap ,
i will set you a challenge to find a conspiracy site dedicated to one researcher that isnt flooded with right wing crap or
stuff like tptb engineer it .

when someone leaves the conspiracy community because they start to connect dots and ask questions
look how they are treated by the so called love and harmony brigade :jakd: :sorry:

what is coming to light is that they were caused by social discontent and the looting was the symptom
what the media made it out to be was opposite of what those in the front line reporting were saying which was
these kids had nothing to lose it couldve been anything that sparked the riots because tensions were high
everything had come together to create the perfect storm and it just exploded without direction other than directing or channeling itself into theft of goods that these kids could never get otherwise .

Sorry I disagree mushy. It was on the whole just cynical organised opportunistic looting. In Manchester it was anyway.

''We were 'avin a twisted laugh innit'' is what one young lad actually said to local radio reporters on the street. The silly little twonk was later arrested and found guilty of smashing the window of JJB sports in Manchester city centre and stealing trainers (caught doing so on CTTV)

& guess what? He was wearing £150 pair of trainers himself when he did it..

Go figure.

They did a Cash Converters in Manchester, that told me all I needed to know about it being an 'uprising'.

I agree entirely. What was patently obvious was the lack of any kind of response from the authorities. As I said, have they ever been accused of this before? Hardly ever is the answer.

If this means I've been deceived or made an error of judgement, then so be it. I know what I saw with me own peepers. :coffee:

it was looting .

but ,
why havent we seen organised looting nationwide before on this scale , and why was it only in certain areas ?
if manchester rioted why didnt glasgow ,
if birmingham rioted why not edinburgh .

what connectes all rioting cities and towns with london and why did so many react as one
it certainly was what it was but why ?

Yep the cops (on the night itself) were there in force, but seemed to take little or no action. This was commented on by the bbc at the time, as the live coverage was being shown.

Later of course it was a different matter...many arrests were made.

I aint gonna stand up for actions like nicking expensive trainers and tellies anymore than I would stand up for buying them.
I do think though that the "riots" were merely symptomatic. Da yoof of today are more villified, more disenfranchised and face more frustration than at any time in my life. Which is in turn a symptom of a far greater ill.

Gang culture and it's ilk are a natural result of this illness. Gang culture is a pussy zit on the face of society. What we do is try to squeeze it, attack it with chemicals or mask it with make up. When we may be better advised to look at the diet and lifestyle choices that give society zits.

I believe the word 'desensitization' is closer than 'illness' and plays a massive part in what's happening around us.
