The last guy they tested under scientific conditions was caught sneaking food, i dont believe humans are anywhere near the level of not requiring sustenance from fruit veg etc, maybe it is possible but to me would require a seismic shift in human development on a spiritual and physiological level imo....i think sean penn needs to lay off the weed and get back into movies........

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

No but thanks for that example....i just remeber seeing someone behind plastic screens, who was alledged to have later cheated,

The guy you have shown is interesting, and the fact he alledgedly never passed a stool or peed is interesting too...though i do believe it will take a spiritual shift to have all doing it, as that jasmuheen is another new-age fraud who was caught cheating despite some of her cultfollowers dying !!

Just as a interesting footnote, here is the daily mails hitpiece on the guy you linked to, this is strangely 7 years after that bbc link of yours :conf:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1274779...aking-seriously.html

And just scroll down and check out the guys pupils....has he taken anything to put him in the mind to do it ? i dont know i just find it all a little odd.... :conf:

I read about these years ago but never thought much more of it. I've been reading some other stuff about psychology, energy and beliefs recently which reminded me of it.

Interesting stuff.

Oooh...take me! :hypo:

I've been thinking today about what might happen if someone who had successfully praticed this for some years were to fall pregnant.

I've all sorts of questions, in fact. Get them to sign up!

This is what I want to try. It's 21 day breatharian transition process reduced to safer 8 day process. The gist of it is this:
day 1 any fruit and juice from these fruit
day 2 before 12 pm 20% juice 80% water, water after 12 pm
day 3,4,5 no food, no water
day 6 water before 12 pm, 20% fruit juice 80% water after 12 pm
day 7,8 fruit juice
no juice from citrus fruit on day 6,7,8
I'm going to try it I guess some time in May, I feel like I'll be more comfortable going through it when it's warm :)

Good luck elf!

I'd like to try it eventually, but having finally reached a point in my life where I actually eat for pleasure (not because of depression or dieting), I'm quite enjoying food at the mo. I'm definitely of the thinking that one should live to eat, rather than eat to live...despite the advertising campaigns.

I'm guessing it's not something one can still enjoy once you've shuffled off this mortal coil, so I intend to make the most of it for a bit longer.

Let us know how you get on, though.

Frankly, I think it's not a safe thing to try. I'd be very wary.

Sounds a bit "Burma Railway to me"

I'm not entirely sure what the benefits are supposed to be.

I can see those prone to anorexia using this in a damaging way.

I imagine one of the main benefits to be a sense of self-reliance, for want of a better word/s.

Spritually speaking, if you ever get to the point of examining reality, for example, it may seem like the next logical step for you. Certainly, its not something that should be attempted for anything other than pushing your own boundaries, but it evidently does work for many people.

It's not as dangerous as it sounds. On average 4 days is how long a human can live without water, and some do all right after a 10 day dry fasting at the first attempt. I have some fasting experience, the longest fast I've done was 13 days completely without food with some fruit juice in the end of it. It went all right.

Wise Haven, the point of doing it is that living without food would make me happier. I'm a lot into gnosticism and Matthew Delooze' material so I believe the physical reality is flawed and a mistake that was never supposed to be, as well as being in the body is unnatural. To me it is a part of the matrix looking ok outside and horribly disgusting inside. Food does give me pleasure, but it is outweighed by awareness of how disgusting is digestion and what it results in, in fact to me it is the MOST disgusting thing about the meat bag I was forced into. It wouldn't be even close to great in this shithole of a dimension in any case but still godzillion times better if I didn't have to be consuming shitting machine causing suffering to other conscious beings just in order to survive (I am a vegetarian, but I do have a feeling plants feel pain). On the other side, breatharianism is said to give you perfect health and psychic abilities which I'd also love. So going to try :)

I can see it from the spiritual aspect, as a tool for exploration and expansion of concioussness. I can relate to that from memory of my own personal experience.
However. at the moment I am in a wilderness when it comes to all things spiritual. All I see or hear is a load of bollocks from those looking to make a fast buck.
Cynical I may be - but I am self aware about that and know I need to work through it and eventually I'll regain the grounded balance I used to have. "self reflection smiley"
