Thanks Gilly, so much for me joining quietly lol! It's great to be aboard, there's a great bunch of posters here! I love that people are using their DIF names I was amazed at who was here! I have followed a trail which led me to here, looking for so many posters who have disappeared. I'll take a look around, and I will contribute, but forgive me if I'm a bit post-lite, I won't exactly be jumping in and breaking your bandwidth, am looking for part of that community that were lost over the years, I've lost contact with more good people than I can count! (And, find some new ones I hope ) And well, I suppose that's partly the reason for this site... Q: Where do posters banned from SZ go? Is there an alternative SZ?


I'm still pretty active over at DIF, mainly only on Savile related issues, which is still my main motivation for continued involvement. I have a good base there. I haven't come over here to be anti DIF or stir things up, just spreading my wings out and feeling the group love!

BTW... has anyone ever tried to put every one of those smileys into one post?

My issue is purely one of inconsistent moderation. ( I refuse to play word games and talk of facilitation).

It is that I lost patience and interest in. I find that lax approach offensive to regular posters and I wonder how many just got tired of it like myself and wandered off elsewhere.

Any implication that I had issues with Mikey Mikey or andyh have no foundation. I don't share andy's views about anarchism and make no secret that I don't agree with Mikey on the religious front. To my knowledge that has never lead to nose-to-nose confrontations with them. I'd hope, quite the opposite, I hope we can respectfully disagree.

On a purely pragmatic front, see no sense in continuing to do ftp backups and maintain a shelter site for a group I am ceasing my affiliation with.
I offer no malice to the folks here. My notifying people of my departure is so that they can be aware they need to make alternative arrangements for those two functions. It's not attention seeking drama queenery.

This is an entertainment choice. For me, it's jumped the shark and so it's time to move on.

But i think you may have got the reaction to mervs latest sock, a bit awry. I didn't see him welcomed. He was here one minute and banned the next tbh, considering this is a very small site with volunteer part time mods, with lives and stuff.
I totally agree he could just knock on the door (like i said to sod). Like sod, he chooses not to.
Every now and again, merv socks up in a very blatant style. And his account gets banned. This time it took about a day iirc.
I couldnt even remember why he was banned tbh.
Ok, ideally a mod would be on hand to uphold the community decision (ban) as soon as the sock becomes obvious but like i said....very small site, real lives....

Btw, you just provoked me into standing up for mods.....you bastard.
