Why are there so many children being diagnosed with this condition ? My 2yr old son has now been formerly diagnosed with ADHD now. At first they thought it was autism but he communicates to well for that .

His problem is he repeats the same words over and over again. Also he has to watch a certain film about 5 times a day which is driving my girlfriend crazy.

Anyone else got a child with ADHD? what steps have you taken? Im against giving him medication.

That seems an awfully young age to diagnose a child.

Nirvana, can you get a second opinion? Lots of kids repeat the same words, and like to watch the same films over & over till they drive you nuts. Are they really sure?

I was going to say that sounds like my step daughter when she was younger. She would make me watch Annie or Wizard of Oz constantly. I used to know all the songs by heart. That was when she was about 3 and 4. She is 11 now. She has problems shall we say and has trouble concentrating I think and we have wondered about ADHD but we have never tried to get her medical "help" She does seem extra intense if she has a lot of additive rich foods and drinks, have you looked at diet? My step daughter has problems but she is o.k. and not medicated. I would also agree with the two people before me.

Whichever doctor diagnosed this should be called out.
I can't believe a doctor would, it takes quite a lengthy process to diagnose a child.

I don't know what your health-care system's like there, but here, I wouldn't trust them to diagnose anything accurately. If the things you've mentioned are the only clues they're going off, I'd say they're wrong, because my own kids wanted to see the same videos over & over again, and there's nothing wrong with them.

2 years is very young for them to be thinking that way.

Yea you gotta watch that. In my opinion, that 'disorder' is a created one. Seems to be another excuse to stifle and drug our little ones. Children are naturally very energetic and hyper and they radiate that. It has become crazy though, some teachers in school actually have suggested to parents that they medicate their children because of this while they have no right to do so.

Believe it or not, Icke did a nice chapter in one of his books about ADHD and how the TPTB are doing everything possible to poison our children with drugs like Ritalin (which is supposedly more potent than Cocaine) and keep them from thinking critically. This usually later leads to harder and stronger drugs as the child gets older like Prozac. He had written quite a bit of how flouride plays into that also. He believes that this 'awakening' as he calls it is the reason they have been cracking down on humanity hard, because they are afraid of our potential.

Your 2 year old son sounds like he is doing normal toddler stuff to me. I thought they all acted like they have ADHD at that age, 2 year olds are mentalists.

It's good that the doctor is just keeping an eye on him at this stage. I would have thought that medication for ADHD would be pretty hardcore for a tiny one.

Nirvana, as many have already said, your lad is acting like a normal 2yr old acts.

2 yr olds are mad and brilliant and funny.

Keep those drugs well away from him.

All previous aside, that's bullshit. Show me a 2 year old that pays attention to anything they don't want to! In my personal experience kids that demand more stimulation than their environment can provide (ie. bright kids) tend to get this diagnosis rather than the environment/adults responsible for providing this stimulation.

Can I ask why you took him to the docs in the first place? Was it related to this?
