Sure she's fine

Having a few people close to me that became Alcoholics i now believe that a few years in jail or prison is the only real cure. After a few years if they come out and start drinking again they need to go back to jail. I understand addiction is a terrible thing and i do feel sympathy but there is nothing on earth more irritating than a ranting alcoholic and I just can't respect them. When it gets to a point that someone is drinking heavy by themselves or only hanging out with people who will get drunk with them immediate intervention is necessary.

What i should have said is they need to take non-violent drug charge cases out of jail and turn at a few major prison facilities into rehab homes for addicts. It just did not come out right i guess i was ranting.

I daren't think how many of the worlds problems could be solved, they number in the millions.

It wouldn't solve all of them ofc but as far as I can see Fresco's idea seems quite do-able.
I doubt anyone will put it to the scientific test because again who's going to invest in something that will remove all money?

12 step program's have helped millions of people world wide, it can easily be argued that it is a cult, but replacing a destructive pattern of behaviour with a productive one that encourages a spiritual way of life can only be a good thing.

It isn't for everyone thoe.

Most anti 12 step people mostly have an axe to grind or a vested interest, how can something free, voluntary and supportive be bad?

I have people close to me that would be dead without it, they choose to keep going and help others, granted there are negative aspects to it, many damaged fucked up people, an attitude of dependence and implications that if you stop going you will die.

Anyway each to their own I guess.

Let me know if anyone finds out more European info on the drug Baclofen.

Someone I care about is really suffering from alcoholism.

I need info so i can help someone i love and it might be to late for 12 step.
