I don't know if it has already been discussed, but I would like to propose the dropping of the sub-title for the Sanctum Zone.
An "Alternative to the David Icke Forum".....it is soooooo 'last season' imho.

I think we have proven and shown that SZ by the very nature of its members are not/is not only an alternative to the 'place that shall not be mentioned' but is an alternative to most forums on the internet.

Here is a true community. Not one driven by some sort of oligarchy, or reliant on advertising.

I suggest we truly show we are an alternative without having to compare ourselves to another forum...by the very action of dropping the sub title shows we are an 'alternative'.

What do you guys think?

I have a 6am start, and am off to my bed...so will check in later today and see if this brings up any discussion.

since i started here i figured you would do better going on your own name rather than on the back of the david icke forum. you can gain new members from places other than the david icke forum that way.

so, i agree.

"Alternative truth site?"

"Alternative Discussion Forum"

"Akternative Views Forum"

or

"Not a David Icke Site" :P

That was only done so this site comes up on search engines when people search "david icke forum" or similar.

Just so people know the site exists. It wasnt done for any other reason, like for an association or comparison to that place or whatever...it was done purely to try and get more people to perhaps find this place.

example...heres the google result for "David Icke forum" , you will see this site in the top results...

"David Icke Forum" - Google Search

It was done as an SEO technique so perhaps more people can find the place, pure and simple.

Last season or not, if its dropped, then the site will slide down the rankings on search engines for a number of relevant search terms...which then means less people will find the place.

I was going to say in my OP that I appreciated that it served a purpose then...but I don't believe it does anymore. Nothing comes easy or the way it should in its own truth without a little hard work....to which I agree with Mickey...there are plenty of 'key' words out there that will throw us up to the top of a search.....but lets get to the top of those searches on our own merit...not on the shirt tails of something like DI...we might as well call it an alternative to Alex Jones or Jeff Rense......I like some ofMikeys suggestions...I can't come up with any of my own at the moment..I am too tired as I have been up since 6am, with repeat performance shortly.

oh okay that's a good point.

i change my answer to neutral.

oh wait, couldn't you just put david icke in the meta tags or do search engines not use those anymore?

The homepage, sanctumzone.co.uk, has the heading "An alternative information site" . The icke thing is on the forum only, not any of the other pages on the site, such as the home page or the news pages.

put the david icke references in the meta tags... it should still be picked up by crawlers and search engines that way

I am uncharacterstically climb up on the fence.

Ho about rather than an "alternative David Icke Forum" we just insert "to" and have

"an alternative to David icke Forum" :nutkik: :pmsl:

It is part of the engine results if people search "David Icke Forum" or similar...the forum here comes up in the results, rather than the home page i illustrated earlier....the title we used is predominately what makes it come up on the front page...prison planet has used the same technique on part of its forum also....

wont do what the title does...words in the title are weighted much more heavily by search engines. :coolio:

It doesn't bother me personally though I do take a little pleasure from the fact that sean likely had a hissy over it at some point... and maybe still does for all we know :coffee:
Here is a true community. Not one driven by some sort of oligarchy, or reliant on advertising.

And that sums it up perfectly too... so I don't see it as riding someone elses shirt-tails either.

We got here because of us, not the name of the forum or how we are searched.... so I see it more as 'catching a break' when it presented itself.

I can't see why we should take it away if it's still of some benefit.

It will only work if we make some nice long threads about bieber and towie on the forum with lots of relevant content inside.

So, who wants to get the ball rolling? :larf:
