Viewing that thread, would you say that nirvana has been given the benefit of the SZ 'clean slate policy'? I wouldn't. Rather, he has been subjected to the kind of passive/aggressive bullying behaviour as displayed in that thread from the moment he arrived here, based solely upon previous preconceptions of him and his views/posts from back on the DIF...not because of anything he has posted since arriving on SZ.

It is a classic example of what is wrong here. Nirvana isn't a so-called ''NAN'' as far as I'm aware. And in his OP in that thread, was he attempting to discuss 'race' ? No, he wasn't. But the implication made by the first person to reply to him in that thread was (a) that he was attempting to do so, and, perhaps more significantly (b) that any discussion of race (ie ''race threads'') are not welcome on SZ full-stop.

Nirvana requested to be made inactive not long after that thread, as he clearly didn't feel comfortable expressing his opinions here. I wonder why?

I hope this post helps explain why so many people have quietly left the site.

Just wanted to point out that in the thread I linked above in which I feature, there is no mention of DIF, there is no personal remarks made against nirvana, and there is no bullying whatsoever. The only other poster (oioioi) is very supportive of the OP.

My intention in my response was not to accuse the OP but to clarify for other members that this was a police-civilian issue and not a race issue. The reason I did this was because the gentlemen who is angry with police does indeed bring up the issue and if you check the comments on the video, the issue does quickly come up.

At the time there was quite an extensive discussion on race that had been going on for some three weeks or more and had become over 100 posts long. Hence my "another race thread".
