How could anyone's brain interpret the value of another creature on Earth?

Would that not be just an arrogant assumption?

I think all living creatures on earth have the same right to exist, some are more valuable to me personally than others, like my dog over the birds outside, but every creature has the right to live and exist, keeping this in mind next time you have trapped bee or fly in your house, may change your mind about killing it... :D

Fleas are the only things I deliberately kill. I'm happy to leave everything else alone as long as it doesn't cross me.

Rather than elevating the value of insect life, there is every chance that notions such as the one in the OP can be used to devalue of human life: i.e. no more than that of insects'.

People who talk of humans as no more important than bugs rarely mean well.

Umm, I dunno about others, but I was speaking about insects in metaphorical sense, and I also mentioned that I find human life more valuable than that of an animal. BUT, the birth right to exist on earth is all the same to every living thing... Goddammit, how should I put this, it's bit hard to say this stuff as I intend to.

Nowt wrong with the Jainist approach.

But then food becomes an issue. Whilst I avoid meat, I do understand that every time I go and pull a leek, I'm ending something's life...

Don't worry it's probably just ingrained religious arrogance that makes you feel that way.

Nobody is elevating the value of insect life or trying to devalue a human life.

Same type of arrogance that assumes dogs don't go to heaven and walk in clouds when they die.

Or that humans are the only creatures on earth that have souls ect...

lol...at that arrogant nonsense...

What about cockroaches?

That's a good example...

If a person kills 20 cockroaches with a chemical spray is that any different than what Adam Lanza did?

Does the universe judge them the same or is religion just another form of human arrogance.

If you drive a car and 20 bugs hit the windscreen is that any different?
