I've been thinking about this recently since my fella's family came to stay.

His sister has to mouth the word 'Lidl'. A friend of mine can only mention "Primark", "New Look" and "H&M" in hushed tones.

I'm dying to know what they think will happen if they were to utter these words aloud.

Someone else I know refers to people as "Asda people", "Tesco people" and "Sainsbury's people" etc, with Sainsbury's Waitrose and M&S Food being the acceptable supermarkets.



What causes people to think like this?

They've been brainwashed with marketing propaganda and they have no clue it even happened.

They believe the label carries a status.
It does of course.
It screams, "I'm a fucking mug!"

I mean what the fuck is a "Tesco person".

yeah what feather sez. its just they want to be better than other people. a cut above the rest. they think respect is given because of certain names or brands on their stuff. it means they accomplished things of course. dont you know you should bow to them and accept your place on the totem pole. cant you afford to buy that kind of stuff. get outta my sight, i can't bear to be around you peons.

It's pretty hard not to be a Tesco person these days, they're everywhere

M&S are overrated, I'm not too impressed by their dark chocolate, and their milk chocolate is just shit imo

Label people, brand people, status people...try to justify, affirm, their way of life by being able to afford "better" stuff...I'm not explaining very well Like feather said, mugs I look down my nose at snobby status people, oh the irony Nah I don't look down my nose at anyone, but I tend to regard status fools with a certain degree of contempt...if I'm in a bad mood, any other time, I pity them.
