Anyone here know anything about the in's and out's when it comes to investing in it?

There's so many different kinds too, as in Britania, Chinese, American etc, what's that about? And when buying it, is it better to go with the larger companies or smaller ones?
And what's the legalities if any? Are there forms and documents involved?

And advice, in as normal and understandable a way as possible, would ge much appreciated. Cheers

Theres not much point because its nigh on impossible to own bullion (24k) and dealers will always give you less than its worth when you want to sell to them and ofc they overprice it when they sell to you.

This is why a lot of the gold trading is actually certificates but as Gerald Celente found out to his horror, they're not worth the paper they're printed on.

Stick to the car boots, sounds like you're good at it ;)

Besides its widespread monetary and symbolic functions, gold has many practical uses in dentistry, electronics, and other fields. Its high malleability, ductility, resistance to corrosion and most other chemical reactions, and conductivity of electricity led to many uses of gold, including electric wiring, colored-glass production and gold leafing.

Its like trading anything else.
If theres a middle man involved its shit :)

The biggest profits always come from either the smallest outlays or the most massive outlays.
The stuff in the middles not worth passing around all that much.

Not unless you can buy it for less than you can sell it.
Same applies to anything, then you have to ask how much you spend in relation to what you receive.

If you make £10 profit after spending £1000 quid then its not exactly a great profit.
If you have to wait 100 years to make a decent profit then its definitely not worth bothering with at all....

In fact, in 100 years we might discover a material that has far better properties than gold is is abundant and we don't bother with it anymore, so there's the risk factor to include.

Then theres the competition to include :D

Sometimes car boots are pearlers...I have a genuine Walter Heubach watercolour of an alpine scene, not animals.
I paid €15 for it after a haggle :D
Its prolly worth over a thousand but its still on the wall...

Anything can be an attractive prospect one day to a complete valueless piece of junk the next.
From tulip bulbs to .coms.

If you can use your skills and knowledge in a market you already know you'll probably be more likely to turn a profit.

Not a real area of speciality for me but I don't think there is a country on the globe that still uses the gold standard.

Nothing is constant or guaranteed.
Look at the world atm, Moodys just needs to raise an eyebrow towards a country and it's economy goes to shit overnight.
Stuff only has the value we give it.
Otherwise it's just a clump of molecules.
