It isn't a fact that not enough people care - it's that very many people have no inkling of anything about the royal family, beyond the fake image that they are a wonderful family who epitomise this country's gloriousness and glamour, and attract lots of money via tourists over here. Just as many people are too busy with their daily grind to become aware of a great many things going on in the world.

Please explain to me how all these people who live in council estates are not kicking in the Tower of London.

Or is it that they are happy to live in council estates because they realize living in Uganda would be a far worse life.

I'm honestly not trying to insult the British, i just don't understand.

13 colonies springs to mind ...

The 13 Colonies were the British colonies on the Atlantic coast of North America founded between 1607 (Virginia) and 1733 (Georgia). They began collaborating at the Albany Congress of 1754 to demand their rights and set up a Continental Congress that declared independence in 1776 and formed the states of the United States of America...

We can't very well have the few dozen people from the SZ, all of whom are completely opposed to the royals, turn up at the gates of Buckingham Palace and try to instigate some sort of coup because we would be laughed out of town. And demonised. And most people would hate us for it. We all have to live 'under the royal sceptre' whether we like it or not.

I'm going to clear this up for the final time right here...

First i wan't to say that i understand the people on SZ, TZ & DIF are Anti-Monarchy....(Understood)

Secondly my Dad's Mom is English and his Father is Irish (My Grandparents)

So with that being said i'm not dissing anyone over there because that would be like dissing part of myself.

Third i just honestly wan't all of you to be free of the Sceptre because i feel it's demoralizing.

Why are all the poor people in UK housing projects over there not kicking in the door of The Tower of London?

Are the people in Council estates just grateful to be poor there because it's a better life than Uganda ect?

Why do i not see youtube video's of Sceptre Freedom protest outside of Buckingham palace?

wake_up_bomb wrote:
And there's no running away from the present system because despite the fact that you have no monarchy things are no better in the States, in fact as you pointed out yourself, they're arguably far worse.

It's important for me to clear this part up...

Everything i look into and research leads my to believe that the UK has much worse overall multicultural poverty than the US. TBH a high percentage of America is very nice suburban neighborhood's and areas so i can't complain. But with that being said and because of my job i will tell you that some US ghetto's can be third world-ish. In that movie i watched "Fish Tank" it showed white people also living in London housing projects. Now if i was to go into almost any city in this region from Baltimore-Wilmington-Chester PA-Philly it's not like that. And i swear i'm not trying to sound racial but white people don't live in the bad ghetto's & Housing Projects in this region at all. So what i'm saying is that yes we have much more dangerous ghetto's because of gun's than the UK. But like i said before the ghetto of my local city where the kids i coach has a 30X higher murder rate than (Moss Side, UK).

\wake_up_bomb wrote:
Frankly, the US is so bad now it's virtually a third world nation already. It's only TV that keeps the illusion going that everything is okay. It works here too, don't worry. That's why the royals are so popular!

I'm going to be honest most of America is very nice and nothing at all like the third world at this point.

So what i'm saying is that i believe in general that the UK has far worse all around multicultural poverty

But yes, some of our ghetto's in the US are like the third world with extra guns and way more dangerous than the UK.

We do have rural multicultural poverty in America but alot of that is down south of here so i never see much of that.

Just quoting a few gems

"the UK has much worse overall multicultural poverty than the US"

"it showed white people also living in London housing projects"

"white people don't live in the bad ghetto's & Housing Projects in this region at all."

"We do have rural multicultural poverty in America but alot of that is down south of here so i never see much of that. "

So there you have it. British poor white people in a film and what it's like round where RA lives.

Not trying to be racist or ignorant but managing perfectly neverthless

Some people believe that Bacon's vision for a Utopian New World in North America was laid out in his novel New Atlantis, which depicts a mythical island, Bensalem, located somewhere between Peru and Japan...

Yes Mikey what i'm saying is that i'm surprised so many poor white British people have not revolted against the Monarchy. As for many blacks in the UK i can understand why they might not want to revolt if they are happy to be in Council Estates and the housing projects in Great Britain due to them having a higher quality of life than they would in a African or Jamaican ghetto. What i just said is not politically correct at all so i hope it does NOT make me seem like a racist asshole.

Idi Amin Dada (mid-1920s – 16 August 2003) was the third President of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. Amin joined the British colonial regiment, the King's African Rifles, in 1946, serving in Somalia and Kenya. Eventually, Amin held the rank of Major general in the post-colonial Ugandan Army and became its Commander before seizing power in the military coup of January 1971, deposing Milton Obote. He later promoted himself to field marshal while he was the head of state...During his years in power, Amin shifted in allegiance from being a pro-Western ruler enjoying considerable Israeli support to being backed by Libya's Muammar Gaddafi, the Soviet Union and East Germany...

On 20 July 2003, one of Amin's wives, Madina, reported that he was in a coma and near death at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from kidney failure. She pleaded with the Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, to allow him to return to Uganda for the remainder of his life. Museveni replied that Amin would have to "answer for his sins the moment he was brought back". Amin died at the hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 16 August 2003 and was buried in Ruwais Cemetery in Jeddah...

:axe: :axe: :axe:
Amin retaliated against the attempted invasion by Ugandan exiles in 1972 by purging the army of Obote supporters, predominantly those from the Acholi and Lango ethnic groups. In July 1971, Lango and Acholi soldiers were massacred in the Jinja and Mbarara Barracks, and by early 1972, some 5,000 Acholi and Lango soldiers, and at least twice as many civilians, had disappeared. The victims soon came to include members of other ethnic groups, religious leaders, journalists, artists, senior bureaucrats, judges, lawyers, students and intellectuals, criminal suspects, and foreign nationals. In this atmosphere of violence, many other people were killed for criminal motives or simply at will. Bodies were often dumped into the Nile River.

The killings, motivated by ethnic, political, and financial factors, continued throughout Amin's eight-year reign. The exact number of people killed is unknown. The International Commission of Jurists estimated the death toll at no fewer than 80,000 and more likely around 300,000. An estimate compiled by exile organizations with the help of Amnesty International puts the number killed at 500,000. Among the most prominent people killed were Benedicto Kiwanuka, the former Prime Minister and Chief Justice; Janani Luwum, the Anglican archbishop; Joseph Mubiru, the former governor of the Central Bank; Frank Kalimuzo, the vice chancellor of Makerere University; Byron Kawadwa, a prominent playwright; and two of Amin's own cabinet ministers, Erinayo Wilson Oryema and Charles Oboth Ofumbi...

This is a follow on from the 'anarchy in Uganda' thread. One thing that bugs me is the way any time anarchism is mentioned, people start saying stuff like anarchy huh...so who will manufacture yoghurt in your anarchist society?? .

Well for those that like having some total stranger hundreds of miles away decide what they can and can't do, here is your chance to explain how a government is supposed to work. After all, we've all got one and everyone seems to think theirs is shite.

You have democracy - so what's your problem? Are you happy with the current set-up? If so, great. Please stop complaining about what the government gets up to.
If not, what kind of government is supposed to work and not turn out to be a bunch of people serving their own self-interest?

Corrupted would be a better word...

The United Kingdom parliamentary expenses scandal was a major political scandal triggered by the leak and subsequent publication by the Telegraph Group in 2009 of expense claims made by members of the United Kingdom Parliament over several years...

I can't speak for the bottom half of this country but up here everyone seems to be happy with Obama and the way things are.

But let me tell you this, if one family ruled America decade after decade and that family just happened to wear gold crowns filled with diamonds and wave a Sceptre with a giant diamond on the end of it called the Star of Africa. Well then you would see Americans at the castle doors in full force Anarchy mode without the slightest doubt....
