There's a difference?
To my mind yes. A moderator steps in if
they think there is a need to, a facilitator should step in when asked to.
No offence Oi, but you're simply dodging a straightforward question.
I know I am, purposefully. I'm here to follow the community opinion (of which I am 1 voice), not my opinion.
I do apologise for creating another drama, and I'm not terrifically bothered.
You raise a fair point imo.
But, I do think if somebodies golden child can have their childish demands pandered to at will, that is problematic. 'The community' did not decide anything. A spoiled child tugged at mummy's apron, and mummy caved in and gave him a Wagon Wheel with no regard to boundary issues.
If certain posters have the ability to have really quite benign posts deleted at will I'm sorry but I regard that as problematic.
The community (for arguments sake, I'm not sure of the exact nature of the forum guidelines being drawn up) agreed that users shouldn't have to tolerate abuse. Whether I personally agree with this guideline or not is neither here nor there, same for if I agree a post is abusive or not, but the only way I can consolidate my community position with my personal position is to not bring my personal beliefs into any facilitating I do (or Dubs will be all over me like a rash, fucking anarchy police

).
I edited this bit in after
. You clearly stated earlier you would delete an 'abusive' post. Since you've become aware of how in no way abusive the post was, you seem unable to reiterate your iniital clarity.
The point is, of course 'abuse' is subjective. But what we're talking about here is basically the equivalent of somebody saying
you are a fool. I think most people would agree 'abuse' is when BC was telling people to fuck off for no reason and calling Gilly a witch.
I think all patrons (apart from maybe WUB) would see things like 'don't be such a twat' as just stuff people say.
I've been a lot more abusive about WUB than what got deleted on this thread. Should it all be deleted? Seriously?
But it's not really WUB's fault. WUB is WUB. I can say what I think of him, but he's really not the problem here,.
The problem is if mod/facilitators/enablers whatever they're called are going to blindly delete posts every time some favoured, mollycoddled bag of insecurities throws their toys out their pram for some bullshit reason. It's not a matter of
hhmmmmm but what is "abuse", it's turning the forum into the Soviet Union at the behest of baby Stalin. On this particular example, we could all be demanding half the forum content deleted. If 50% of the people here were as passive aggressive as WUB it'd be chaos. You can't talk about 'the community' when one poster has their own personal censor/ego enforcer somewhere among the folk with their fingers on the control panel.
I do think that's a problem.
