RB was clearly separating the part of enjoying the medal winning from the ''public spectacles'' that he disagrees with, so what I'm saying is that his participation in the Olympics closing ceremony was part of the ''public spectacle'' that he does not agree with, so he's doing that what he does not agree with, nothing to do with medal winning.

Now on an earlier post on the thread I said that 'communication' by behaviour was important, as most communication is non verbal.
So RB has a conflict between his verbal communication and his behavioural communication.
What you appear to be doing Mikey and please don't take this as a 'wind up' but you appear to be making excuses for RB's inconsistencies.

No - what Mikey did was point out Brand's own recognition of, and justification for an inconsistency.

Perhaps he did not understand or have the same perspective at the time he participated. Sometimes life's like that. It hits you afterwards.

I'm not a sporty person at all but I hate the Olympics because they are a ridiculous massively public subsidised advertising campaign for a select few global corps, (none of whom give a shite about healthy living btw, many are major purveyors of unhealthy lifestyles).

The respective hosts governments hijack the personal achievements of the athletes and turn them into chest thumping, jingoistic, nationalist propaganda.

It works as well. Minutes after an athletes triumph the talk is of "we" took .......gold silver bronze, whatever.

Yes RB did make his own excuse, but excusing himself for enjoying the medal winning is not the same excuse that Mikey has made for RB not 'enjoying the medal winning' but actually participating in the spectacle part of the Olympics that is all about spectacle and nothing about the medal winning.

It would be like me saying I hate what football has become but still like the sport, and then engaging in the part of it that is unrelated to the sport, games, goals or medals.
That's my take on it anyhow.

It does appear that when RB's inconsistencies are pointed out he then says ''that's before I woke up'' or in this case 'conflict of thinking'
