Growth, expansion, evolution?

You'd have to define source to answer that. I personally believe...if you are everything that is wishing to know what it is to not be that, what better way to experience being (seemingly) the opposite of that, than dividing yourself up (although you can never really be divided into anything less than you are - which is everything) into seperate (seemingly) entities and creatures, expressed in infinite variety on infinite planets and planes of existence?
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.

That's just words, isn't it. It isn't the 'submission' of will that you were talking about in the OP, when you die because a brick's fallen on your head.

I submit my will to a force more powerful than myself.

It is exactly that.

Course it's not. You've not submitted your will if you had no choice.

Of course I have submitted my will.

What does it matter whether it was my choice or not.

What better way to experience absolutely every possible emotion possible than inventing a game of evolution in which experience is the name of the game?

This is the crux of the matter for me...

On some level, you could be said to have had a choice in the matter. By defining 'my choice', you seem to be suggesting that your ego/self/consciousness is seperate from everything else.

I contend 'it' may believe so, but it most definitely is not. Nothing is.

Hang on - so getting smacked round the head with a brick is somehow similar the the submission to somebody else's will you were talking about in the OP?

If ya like. I would say it was more about 'source' becoming whatever 'source' is by having all these experiences. It gets complicated when you try and look at it in terms of linear time, but I believe time to be a neccessity, on this planet, in this plane of existence, simply due to the way in which our senses process information.

Not at all,

The direct opposite, there is no separation, there can't be.

it is the ego mind that wants separation and superiority.

This is what allows it to act in ways without empathy and compassion.

Totally agree with you,

linear time is an illusion.

It's realising that you were always going to get smacked around the head with a brick.

David Berkowitz submitted to a higher power
He should have realized it was just his lot in life.
my limbless friend will die alone
a torso of flesh upon the throne

Violence is not the answer, it is the question. the answer is yes.

Yes it is :)

Invoke whoever you like, it doesn't matter.

That is their lot.

Whether they be Motzart or Stalin.

See what I did there? :chuckle:

Well I'm not sure that I subscribe to your view of being a leaf in the river of life. But whatever gets you through the day. I think it's lazy.

The leaf expends the same energy whether it's floating atop a stagnant pont or battering off rocks heading down Victoria Falls.
None.

Absolutely nothing doesn't expend energy.

Everything is constantly transforming.
