I read lots of the books I'd loved as a kid to my little sister, then to my own kids.

Goblino the Witch's Cat; The Wind in the Willows; Charlotte's Web; 101 Dalmatians; Peter Pan; all the Moomintroll ones; Roald Dhal's stuff.

Ooh Goblino... I remember that at the end of the story I was read, Goblino fell off the side of a ship, and broke into a thousand pieces... that was the end of the story, I was only tiny, and it really upset me :emb:
I hadn't thought about that for years... thank you for reminding me...

Dad was a big fan...thought he looked a bit like Dennis Waterman. He didn't. But he did wear white socks and slip on shoes, which also reminds me of this show. Bizarely.

Just listening to the music made all the hairs on my arms stand up! I think he might be here actually...

Apols for all the vids...it seems I was literally plonked in front of a TV at birth, which probably explains why I don't watch it any more.

This was a classic though (Abigail's Party). I actually have the 'erotic art' referred to later in this play. ;)

My parents had one of those sectional things, similar to this. I was always slipping down into the cracks though.

Shut it.

I remember once I was coming back from the castle where we used to play, in the narrow street round the corner from where we lived a car slowed down alongside me with the window down and the rough-looking middle-aged driver pointed to me and said 'That one there'. I was seven or eight. I just ran away. I hardly thought about it since, but thinking about it now I probably came really close to being snatched off the street by a bunch of nonces.
