What you imagine can be done by throwing all that stuff out on here is beyond me, you seek to tell us all personal details and unsubstantiated experiences, without considering that you cannot just throw out claims and names without evidence, and it is not a justification for doing so, because of any personal experiences or claims you have,

Yet you want to state others are brushing it under the carpet because you cannot just throw out all what you seek to do, well i personally know that is not true, and i can tell you dawn, there are members on here who probably know as much, if not far more than you on the subject and its effects, they just to do things in a proper manner that does not go against the consensus of the forum,

Personally i feel if you are still carrying such anger, and seek to talk then you need counselling away from a forum, as it has been stated enough such an emotive issue cannot be allowed to descend into false claims based on hearsay or inference without any solid evidence due to libel, and again in my own opinion, please seek out help away from a public forum, as you seem to me to have just picked up where you left off, and outside help seems to be exactly what you need in my opinion.

Forum therapy is not all its cracked up to be.!

Also , there comes a point where things can been seen as self-pity and self-indulgence, dressed up as a desire to help others. That may be unfair but as they say "Life's a bitch and the you die!"

Are there any examples of forum owners being sued in any way, whether it be defamation, libel or anything for the content posted by its members?

It would seem to me the responsibility lies with the poster.

I am aware of certain forums being made to make available a posters details by the police but never a forum owner being under scrutiny.

If somebody graffiti a libellous statement on a wall, would the owner of the wall be responsible for the libel?

Does not the terms and conditions upon signing up to a forum state the posters responsibilities?

The umm is because I very rarely read terms and conditions for anything.

Well in short they normally absolve people of any consequences from people using their facility.

Imagine if a forum created a thread titled ''Post your guesses at paedophile celebs' even though the facilitators had not posted any names. they would be creating a purpose for them to be posted, which has the same effect as not editing posts that were posted by posters who make accusations that are not legal fact, regardless if they are true or not, because there is no way of knowing what's true or not, so the facilitators need to wait until convictions have occurred before agreeing to permit such terms to be used about 'innocent' people as they have not(yet) been proved to be such in the legal system that populations are bound to.

Has the DI forum been sued ever ?

I would even go farther than that Blue_Tackler, even if someone is proven guilty and convicted of sex crimes in a court, it's unwise to slam them to death on a forum (ex. named and shamed from DIF), because, that "pedo" is someone's son, someone's brother, someone's uncle. Imagine the kids related to the convict what they go through, especially in schools, where they would get teased and abused for just being related. This is about having some common sense, and maybe show empathy where others lack.

As marina points out freedon of speech comes with responsibility.

All of the freedoms we desire/need/have a natural right to, come with responsibility.

Marina has hit the most important nail squarely on the head imo.

When I was at DIF there was a panic because another published conspiracy researcher (can't remember which one) did threaten to sue over some nasty comments someone had posted about him, and Sean/Icke were crapping themselves.
