And where do you get such an assertion as, "All decisions are based on love or fear"? There are a whole myriad of reasons that people make decisions for.

It would have been unfair to not shut her down, since she was flouting the consensus that had been reached. Why should Dawn be allowed to do that, when nobody else will be?

But, as already covered, you, and she, are both welcome to open your own forums and post just whatever you like, disregarding laws you don't agree with (till you get sued). :thumbup:

Until it is proven to be libellous and damage caused you can't say it libellous, it's just the way it is.

I agree with your consensus and how to run your forum. I am just discussing the principle.

The love and fear thing is probably best for another thread, I firmly believe it to be the case though.

It would have been better if we didn't have to have the word, 'potentially' inserted, and in fact, she didn't need telling at all, since she knew damn well she was doing precisely what this thread was about avoiding doing.

You seem be contradicting yourself. You say you agree with the consensus, and how the forum's run, but yet you're arguing that we acted unfairly in not letting her go against that consensus. What sense does that make?

So yes, you do appear to be just trying to shit-stir, as pointed out by Sket.

I agree it's easier to run a forum without having to deal with it and your right to run it as you see fit.

I disagree with the perceived level of threat due to no web masters ever being prosecuted, although I fully understand if it was me in charge and responsible I may think differently.

So how do you reconcile stating you agree we should run it as we see fit, but yet stating it was unfair to apply the rule we'd agreed on to Dawn?

I know I am a lone opinion here :)

No poll needed and I am not trying to change forum policy I am just discussing the topic which at its root is defamation. And particularly risk to the forum.

I will try and desist but I am prone to take bait when dangled sometimes :)
