There's no evidence that aliens exist just plenty of speculation and folk tales.
Millions of experiences world wide aren't folk tales. I've never been to a rugby union match but millions have and i'm not gonna call rugby union a folk tale just cos I aint been.
I wrote this in another thread, although it was rather hastily written, as there doesn't seem to be much interest on the forum for 'this kinda thing'.

The idea of 'aliens' is a complete misnomer, and completely diverts the attention away from a huge amount of evidence, written over a period of hundreds, if not thousands of years, that points to the phenomena being very much closer to home.
Is it just a coincidence that in the space age of the 20th and 21st century, that we're seeing hi-tech craft traverse the skies?
Was it just a coincidence that in the early part of the 1900's that actual flying ships, anchors and all, were being spotted?
Is it another coincidence that in medieval times people were reporting seeing witches on broomsticks?
Or that between the 1600's - 1800's, where nature worship was rife, people were seeing, and being abducted by (and being taken on either terrifying or enlightened journeys) man size bunny rabbits and shape-shifting horses?
Or in biblical times where people often reported encounters with angels or demons? And still are in heavily influenced religious areas.
You get my point

If you're interested in this kind of thing, then I can't recommend John Keel's books highly enough. The bloke is an absolute legendary researcher, a proper one, although he doesn't quite come across too well on camera.
Another reason why the 'alien' theory doesn't sit well with me, is that we assume it's something unrelated to us, when in fact if there is other life in this universe (and I would be blown away if there isn't) then 'it' is us - and not 'alien'.
