Tax avoidance avenue or mega mega subsidy cul-de-sac or somert.

 I would watch that as well!

Meanwhile, stuck in the middle and paying out most of the money to keep the country afloat are the decent, hard working, strong on ethics people who have to put up with crap from rich and poor spongers, scroungers and thieves.

That's a bit to black and white for me.

I don't believe full employment has ever been possible in the UK for a long time due to the type of system that is in operation.

0.7% is the budget of dwp spend on unemployment benefit, 50% is on pensions and there's a whole lot more than that going on tax credits for the vast majority of those actually in employment...

Now armed with that info, who are the spongers?

I would be interested in knowing how much is spent on tax credits,is there a website where i can find out?

0.7% spent on unemployment benefit is next to nothing and it surprises me it's that low the way the media and government go on with their propaganda.

The reality is the biggest group that profits from subsidisation is the business sector including the banks, those big time gamblers lost their stake money and got totally reimbursed by the tax payers.

So folks if you've ever gambled and lost send the information to the government and they will pay you back in full i am sure.

Lol, you fell for it didn't you dawn :)

The 2009 period graph is one I can find quickly with my mobile, this shows 3% on the unemployed with a massive amount going on pensions.

Thought so...I suspect it has increased quite dramatically since the first graph. Tossers.

It's a slightly different graph with a few new bits in & old bits out. So basically, it's a lie not to include tax credits.....
unlesss they're suddenly being funded from elsewhere.

They didn't include bank bailouts and bonuses ofc because they'd need a pie chart the size of saturn

LOL

So the new universal credit the government are rolling out is just a way of hiding the specifics and not there to help people.

What i mean is the pie chart of the future will just be one colour saying universal credit?

People need to take note of how the pension % has increased from 36 to 46% in the space of just 3 or 4 years there.

And yes child tax credit and working tax credit to prop up wages took up 14% of the entire DWP budget in 2009...

It is clear that a combination of the banking bailout and the greying population is causing the austerity, along with the wars in far-off-istan ofc.

But nooo lets look at the immigrants and doleys because it panders to racism and class hatreds, so much easier to manipulate people by appealing to emotion instead of logic.

I've watched this programme now and it is apparently the most watched series C4 has done!

Loved the episode where the unemployed UK look down on the immigrants but at the bottom of the pile were the Irish Travelers who both groups hated :dunno:

Sadly this kind of attitude is not just clever editing on the tv companies part, I know people in real life who believe this kind of shit! Still not sure if they are stupid, racist, blinkered, brainwashed or what?

When I was unemployed a few years back I got, I think £70ish a week, when I went back into employment on £47,500 I also started to receive working tax credits of £158ish a week and child tax credits of £62ish (I didn't even know I could have applied for this whilst unemployed) and the whole thing seemed nuts

The govt were giving more money whilst employed, on a wage that I could easily live on, than being unemployed when I could actually have done with the help

I queried it several times because it seemed ludicrous however apparently it was correct.

I still can't get my head around that given how shabbily the unemployed (particularly under 25's) and people unable to work due to illness or disability have to jump through hoop after hoop to qualify and continue to receive the small amount of money they are grudgingly given each week to survive on

And yet people think they are the drain on Society.....makes me fucking angry that does

I'd be scuppered without credits. As it is, that money just about covers my food and other essentials every week. I'm not sure you were getting tax credits as we understand them, Dawnie, not if that was your annual income. Its all different if you have children under a certain age though. I know I wasn't eligible for any assistance when earning about 18k.

I only am now because my wage is mimimum. Can't remember what the threshold is, but I don't think its much more tbh.
