I have a big problem with the fact that the BIS is located in Switzerland, certainly some very dodgy things have gone on there. Switzerland is still a plutocracy, it's just that there are at least some checks and balances in place, and consequently the establishment has to deliver a decent standard of living to the average person. The average salary in Switzerland is £40,000, the minimum wage in Spain has just been frozen at £620 per month, yet the EU are saying to the Swiss, "come on, join the EU"! It's far from perfect, but I still think it's the best run country in the world, mainly because virtually every other nation is run appallingly.

The UK is only applying the next step- Permanent Austerity (i.e. transference of wealth upwards) which is part of a process that the whole international 1%ers put on the cards decades ago.

Japan has the "working poor", America's has seen an astronomical widening of uber rich and median earners, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have all had collective bargaining rights stripped, welfare and pensions collected in taxation only to disappear, etc.

Europe is no different. It's next and the UK will be the vanguard.

Any news about Bepe Grillo since you got back then?

The whole Farage-style "protect our English Ale" while we get more and more corporatist crap wrapped in a red white and blue (take your pick).

As for Grillo: not much. He's mostly obstructionist at the mo.

I really like this Owen Jones guy.
He's taken up the torch and he carries it quite well imho.

www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/owe...scourse-9106227.html

Its uplifting to see someone in MSM who is doing a PROPER job.
This is someone who needs money donating and deserves it, not that he's asking as he works for the independent but isn't this the sort of stuff that 'should' be front page news and 'should' be encouraged as decent journalism?

The producers justified booking her on the basis that she got a response; I suggested that the same could be said about a live execution, but that probably wasn't an argument in its favour.

Its just the same identical shit as sean and his 'traffic' isn't it?
The trouble is that many of the wingnut spokespeople are actually directing the policy of nation states, these people are not just 'trolls' who can be ignored. If we ignore them then we are looking at WW3/economic disaster take your pick.

I think Owen Jones is right to stand up to these psycho motherfu*kers.

lol well at least there is a UK journalist who is visible and getting publicity and actually fighting 'our' corner for once.

The only ones I've seen other than him are Pilger and Palast but they usually stick to large scale issues rather than specifically focusing on the UK itself.

FFS I get really fucking angry about this...3% dammit, 3 fucking per cent of the dwp budget and its too fucking much and a fucking drain FFS AARRGGHHH KIN ELL!!!

Ahh but tiaras and foie gras and 300 pound a day for the "Lords" eh?

Of course, THAT is spite and jealousy.

Whereas screaming about how the poor should be further impoverished and giving food away privately is bad is just fucking dandy.

On one level, this is a distressing sign of the Americanisation of public debate in the UK – much as social security has been rebranded as "welfare", and hence transformed from a right to a charity, so we find a weirdly expanded definition of "communism".

Thank s partly to wingnuts on the DIF and elsewhere for that.

My opinion of why the people in control of Switzerland keep the populace reasonably happy is so they don't revolt,Switzerland is the keystone of much of the world corruption and has physical important aspects to world corruption that need protecting rather than superficial schemes in other countries. :P

I could see UKIP riding the ticket of get out of Europe for years while getting elected into Euro parliament and making money out of it.

That's how bizarre politics is now.

The EU is run by the unelected fascist dictatorship called the European Commission. That is where the power lies and anyone working for it becomes corrupted by it. Lord (Neil) Kinnock being a good example. When leader of the Labour party he was against the EU. Having served as a commissioner he now feels it absolutely essential the UK should remain part of the EU. He has not mentioned the fact that his EU pension contains a loyalty clause. ;)

UKIP may have many and varied faults, but if they succeed in getting us out of the EU they will have done the UK a big favour and hopefully it will be the start of the disintegration of the ghastly edifice that is the European Union.

All IMO, of course. :)

OK,a simpletons view of this EU thing......

The msm have been persuading us for years that the EU is the boogie-man (and I'm not saying it isn't) , we almost had square bananas, lol. But if the uk media is so anti EU, then I am seeing it as the best of two bads.

Sorry to interrupt intelligent stuff :)
