If they don't eat as much, then how come they loose half the body weight after a gastric bypass?
And no, I'm not one of those naturally thin. I've been watching what I eat and exercise daily. Genetics ehh??? Bullshit, I ate alot of crap before I made a complete change in my diet: no sugar, no salt, no fizzy drinks, no gluten.
Just a diet tip: don't wait 8 hours after you get up to eat and have 2 meals a day, that's what is keeping the pounds on. Have small portions instead, 4 times a day.
I could find a million excuses to not work out today, but it's better to start taking care of yourself while you're still young.

Well I was trying to find a reasonable excuse (by my talking about my friend) for your nasty comments about people who are obese, but seems I was wrong. Instead you are just one of those people who find overweight people disgusting because you think its all down to thier own fault. I agree that in some cases it might be (and maybe that's why gastric bypasses work), but not all. Comments like yours tar everyone with the same brush, just like phrases such as 'useless eaters' or 'welfare scroungers'.

My diet is very similar to yours - I don't eat crap and hover around 1000 - 1200 cals per day. I tried more meals (smaller portions) and actually put on weight, so you don't know what you are talking about. I took medical advice on it and was told it doesn't matter what time of day you eat. At least I am at last able to hold my weight steady. As I stated I am unable to work out. So instead of being insulting, you should be counting your blessings. You are young and still have your health - be thankful & more tolerant of others not so lucky as you, because some day you might find that you can't do that - you might find yourself incapacited at 40 through no fault of your own, and find the pounds rolling on no matter what you do. Then by 61 yrs old you will have to put up with ignorant people just like you calling you a fat fucker who eats 7 meals a day like a pig, because they can't see beyond the surface & their youth.

Whatever.
I heard that tune before.
Calories in = calories out, whatever excuse you come up with and statistics don't lie, 1 in four adults is obese in the UK alone. If you chose to be insulted by my comment, that's up to you (yet you say you're neither of the things, which obviously means the original comment wasn't addressed to you).
Isn't it funny though, when you get to the bottom of it all, and get personal, turns out everybody has a story... same with the immigrants, next time when you say "bloody immigrants" think about it... they have a story too.... families to raise and feed, before you go on judging and putting them all in one melting pot.

Political correctness and all. Why not call the things by their names?

I think this is a case of the kettle calling the pot black. Where have you ever seen me judge immigrants? I think you are the one making blanket judgements here not me. PS. I said I was obese, so yes your comments were addressed to me.

And where did you see YOUR name in my original post about obesity statistics? Heh? You chose to take it personally, when it was a general remark about the fucking size of a nation.
Truth hurts.

And to say that I'm disgusted by fat people? Wrong. I admire people with the determination to change things around and better their lives instead of turning to blame.

There ya go, that guy is my idol, and I'm talking about Tony, NOT Chris.

I wasn't challenging your statistics, I was challenging your language.
Just to remind you, you said "fat fuckers", "they stuff their faces like the world is ending" & "OBESE = Can't work, the state pays for everything, + NHS free medication for diabetes, heart, etc... not to mention gastric bypass the only way that makes them stop eating like pigs. Yet these people find the money to eat 7 meals per day."

I am obese therefore your remarks applied to me. I thought they were out of order.
Then you choose to accuse me of complaining about immigrants? :conf:

Bored with you now - you are nothing but a bigot.

I don't know what's worse, 'fat acceptance' [fat pride] or fat denial...
You might be a medical mystery, but 99% of the people do it to themselves through their ignorance later in life (as adults) by not acknowledging they have a problem, but in early stages of obesity (as children), the parents are the ones that cook the meals, buy the groceries and fill the fridge. So in a way, it is someones else's fault. Old Nature vs. Nurture ehh... Genetics? More like a generations patter. [hippopotamus, elephant, whale - THAT is genetics, naturally large mammals]
Actually, it's not the fat that I have a problem with, it's the ignorant that 99% of the time go hand in hand. You'd have to, to let your body degrade to such a state. (and that goes for both extremes, anorexia and bulimia too)
Yes, I guess I am a bigot, my bad, in this 'politically correct' society you can't say the word 'fat' anymore.
I'm sorry If any of my comments offended any "plus-sized" people. Actually, I'm not. I call things as they are. So bite me.

^Like I said, transfats in cheap food + lower exercise due to more desk jobs = fat people.

There's also people who get fat despite eating very little, this is down to insulin production causing lipids storage. (diabetics)
Theres also ofc people who are ridiculously thin despite eating well over 3000 calories a day such as my bloody missus who is still something like a size 6 despite having 4 kids which is hugely annoying :)
I swear blind her guts prove the existence of extra dimensions.

So its wrong to make sweeping generalisations marina and I'm not surprised QS called you out on it.

Generally speaking most blokes I know are thin up until their mid twenties or perhaps early thirties and then all of a sudden the gut comes on. Obviously there's a change in the way the body processes food as you age but I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised to see that cheap shit food has had a huge part to play in it, quite possibly cancer increases and other ailments too.

I would never make the mistake of saying 'oh they're all fat cos they're doleys!' I mean ffs

Gotcha andyh, but I'm just a bitch, couldn't wrap the truth in a pretty package :D
1 in 4 adults are obese in the UK [1 in 3 in the US], if that ain't fucking alarming, I don't know what is.
And it's bullshit that you can't eat healthy on little income. An apple or banana and green tea instead of a pack of crisps and fizzy drinks, is not gonna break the budget. Buckwheat, oats, brown rice instead of white bread, cook from scratch etc. It's all down to choice, and frankly I don't fucking care what choice other people make, let them kill themselves.... slowly, no skin off my back.

Nah, good food is expensive.
You won't find lean meat costing less than the fatty stuff for example.
It also takes time and effort to make decent food, something a lot of people don't have much of nowadays, so they opt for ready made stuff , or things that just need heating up etc.

Rice is carbs btw, as is noodles, spaghetti, breads etc etc and its carbs that get the lipids.
Fats as such in food do not necessarily make people fat. Its specific types of fats in conjunction with carbs and you'll find them almost exclusively in cheap food.

Its exercise thats missing most imo and thats a direct result of automation in the workplace. I'm sorry but there's no 'truth' in saying ALL fat people are fat through their own fault anymore than thin people are because they eat fuck all etc.
