Me neither that's why I didn't kill her or order her death. Celebrating the demise of a truly despicable human being (puppet or not) isn't on a par with owt she did.

I've been wondering, what would I have to do in life for my death to be so celebrated? Try and imagine that!

Carry on the way you're going building that cunt reputation and I reckon you'll be doing not to bad by the time you get to her ripe old age :coffee:

Wrong, Hugo. She worshipped Mark Twatcher. I don't think she ever loved anyone or anything else in her life, to the exclusion of his twin sister. Even her husband (stolen off his first family and the cause of his first wife's suicide/attempted suicide, can't rightly recall now) was only married because she needed his money.

Mark was the rotten apple of her vile eye. She adored him and did everything for him. No wonder the f/wit grew up not able to even wipe his own arse.

Yeah but she actually destroyed shit, I'm just trying to destroy my reputation for destroying shit (not very hard, granted) and I'll be fucking amazed if I get anywhere near her age!

No real disagreement from me there. But I don't really see how the bitch being a stiff changes anything. Except for the media circus ofc.
The damage was done many moons ago. We the people have had many opportunities to set things straight, we've collectively shunned them all. Ok she wanted isolated nuclear families to replace the extended families etc. Twas the people themselves that went along with it...many more examples on those lines ain't there ;)
Her being dead now does Fuck all. Celebrating it does Fuck all except damage our souls. Using her death as a stimulus for 'activity' on the other hand would be entirely positive...

One thing though, to those I know that endured the beanfield and those I don't know that also did...i'll have a pipe for yous all tonight.

On a very personal level she is perhaps more responsible than any individual for shaping my politics. From my school milk, to my dad's job, to the poll tax and JCA...she made me more politically aware of myself than any of the adults in my immediate vicinity! For me she loaded me with a lot of negativity when I began to realise 'the rules of the game', today I got 'closure' on that negativity without having to resort to her tactics of combat. And coming back to an earlier point of yours, and perhaps it's about subjectivity, but I still don't see her as a puppet. Blair showed signs of personal distress and discomfort when confronted on certain matters, she never gave me the impression she didn't fully endorse her own actions!

I have to admit that I'm enjoying the civil disobedience. The media are pushing the lie, for all they're worth, that we're all in shocked grieving for the horrid old twat, so what more appropriate way to prove it's propaganda, than by having impromptu street parties, and a bit of river dancing at local gatherings.

You're young. You're to be forgiven, you cannot be expected to remember her vileness and knowing evil (puppet? Puppet effin master, more like).

Oi, I'm not suggesting thatcher wasn't totally and utterly committed to her politics. She lived them. Whichever way you look at it though she was a transient figurehead. A figurehead selected for candidacy, surrounded by lifelong civil servants etc.
The state was there before during and after her. Like all pms she was a state puppet....why else was she dropped like a stone after the poll tax riots etc?

I think that sums it up well. It's a big 'fuck you' to the notion we all have to feel sad a 'great leader' has passed away I may have disagreed with her but she was a fine woman doing what she believed in.... Fuck that shit. She was a cunt. Celebrating her death is as much rejecting what she stood for, not going along with or passively ignoring the notion she deserves respect and/or we should somehow feel sadness. I can't fucking stand all this pompous well she was a human being and it's sad when a human being dies... - tell that to the people of Chile. Thatcher couldn't give a flying fuck about human beings. All she cared about was flogging everything she could to private capital and lining the pockets of the rich. While bamboozling the working class into thinking having a mortgage somehow meant they were going up in the world as she instigated the ongoing widening disparity between rich and poor, a gap people fought for decades to close.

Nobody would bat an eyelid over any cheering American celebrating Obama's OBL First Person Shooter adventure, and she did far worse than he ever managed.

My elderly father is annoyed she's disrupted the TV schedule and got it filled with asinine hand-wringing. I have advised him to pour a nice glass of sherry and toast Satan's imps who are dressed as miners and roasting her over hot coals.

She was a cunt.
She's dead.
Fucking great.
One less cunt in the world.

As 'the first female' PM I suspect this gave her a freer reign than her predecessors, after all we we're in the middle of the 'feminist' transformation (as dictated by the press rather than feminist ideology) and needed a strong, unchallengeable female example of what could be achieved with 2 kids and an alcoholic hubby. Except he drank himself to death, the son thought arms dealing was a career....and Carol was her daughter.

I am well aware my circumstances may have lead me to hold her as an icon of all I hated, I'd argue she put herself there.

DM, I completely disagree with you that celebrating her death is a rejection of what she stood for. Sorry but that's bs.

There are many real ways to reject what she stood for. You know, being neighbourly, showing solidarity with people, not being a greedy cunt etc etc.

Celebrating her death is just crap imho and as I say pointless.and damaging to the soul.

Basically I'm saying Fuck her. There's work to be done. ;)

I get what you are saying but you have no idea how much 'freer' I feel. Seriously, it's like a collective weight has been lifted and the Tories policies are no longer just the same old Thatcher policies, as she's not around, they are suddenly owned by the current mob, in the public's perception (terms and conditions may apply, specifically if you hail from north of Watford :P)

Oh I'm no fan, but today I've even been sharing Morrisey's anti-Maggie song, scousers singing anti-Maggie songs a few years back, with a fucking passion, and dirty Leeds fuckers having spontaneous street parties today.

This brief and unexplainable sense of unity amongst commonly divided folks may just become a prolonged one... in the very least I expect spaghetti junction to be taken out and north -south barriers set up

I don't need that either, I think a whole lot of people are suddenly gonna become 'political' though, and it was already a tough ask lumping on this particular pony... I really wish I was in the UK this week.
