What do you mean RA?

Why would his mom give him commands on standing up and sitting down out of the barber chair?

How Bizarre is that? He must have snapped on her...

Totally staged tbh but thats the least of it.

Care to explain how a kid shoots a pile of people with a .223 machine gun thats meant to be in the boot of a car and when we see later a cop opening a gun case in the boot of a car only for it to be a shotgun and he's there ejecting cartridges from it with no gloves on....

You do know the difference between an ar15 and a shotgun right?

Yes thank you.if you look into events like this(they are extensively researched in my house as it goes) you learn that media reports are often widely different as the day goes on. As stated by myself already and others news media often reports rumours and then later reports something closer to the truth. So somebody suggests Lanza's mum was a teacher. So they report it. They don't fact check because there is no time. Each network wants to have the scoop. As a result false information is reported.

Regarding your eh? During situations that are not normal situations who decides what is normal behaviour?

But, in his own way, he raises a valid point. Who can recall the name of any of the victims? The MSM make the people that (allegedly) carry out these acts overnight 'celebrities' for want of a better word.

I'm aware of that, and the likelihood of 'copycat' attacks - especially where such an act has been seen to cause the President to stop in his tracks - is even acknowledged by those campaigning in favour of the 2nd amendment being upheld.

It's 'his own way' - ie. the flippancy implied by the choice of wording - that I object to.

So I am to understand that he wasn't brave enough to point his head up at the hairdresser, but he was brave enough to break into a school and shoot 26 people?

I don't think a killing spree takes bravery. I also would suggest that such an awkward shy child would to me at least seem like just the kind of person to flip. He was probably holding something inside and that one day it came out.

This is possible, but would seem to be quite speculative. On the one hand, one post ago you stated that it is impossible to decide what 'normal' behaviour is, but you do feel qualified to discern the likely behaviour and character of a child based on a one minute interview with someone who he'd never spoken to!

As information is continually updated ... who decides when is the proper time to look at it and discuss in a meaningful way? Is it not helpful to point out the discrepancies when they arise in order to get a clearer picture?

Has the discrepancies about which guns were used been resolved yet? Does it jive with what is seen on a video which was aired on the news? This is not a rehetorical question.... I do not know anything about guns.
During situations that are not normal situations who decides what is normal behaviour?

I have seen many medical examiners questioned by reporters before and in comparison this examiner is defintely not normal nor does he even pretend to be serious about the details of his profession.

I'm bog-eyed from lack of sleep, but a lot of interesting points have been made.

Here are a few of my observations...
dogsmilk wrote:
* It's well understood people can behave in seemingly odd ways when confronted with grief and the situation in question was particularly out there. That guy wouldn't know if he was coming or going. One minute he's living his life and the next his kid's dead and he's the centre of a media extravanganza. I think when going on about that guy in the video they should remember his kid got killed - now if it's being suggested he's some kind of actor because of that laughing thing I think people should remember that looking at some guy on a youtube clip and deciding how he should behave means exactly jack shit. Like people actually involved with the whole thing wouldn't notice if he wasn't one of the actual parents.

I agree that people can behave oddly when confronted with grief. But there wasn't just one clip showing parents behaving oddly. There were three couples. And as mentioned repeatedly, it's this in conjunction with other things that it raises doubts.

By behaving 'oddly', in this case, it was a clear impression given to a lot of people that there wasn't any sign of genuine grief. They all struck many viewers as acting a role, but not managing to pull it off convincingly. All were immaculate and didn't appear to have been crying, or suffering, or in shock, and that is distinctly odd in my book.

Also, as I've also said before, there are plenty of photo's around of other parents who by sharp contrast, look exactly as you'd expect them to. I.e. beside themselves with grief. I'm not for dismissing it, frankly.

Regarding the other parents noticing - that's why there was talk of the possibility of those specific ones having connections, & having been possibly paid off for co-operating, and part of the pay-off being that their children were spared. That'd explain why they don't exactly look shook up.

It's all conjecture which might be way off in reality, but that's what we try to look at the details for - to see how they'd make sense in the bigger scheme of things.

Bear in mind also the (as far as I know) unprecedented step the law has taken of threatening prosecution to anyone there who posts things on social media that they've not approved.
dogsmilk wrote:
It doesn't even make any sense - if the children are really gone - and nobody here seems to be suggesting they aren't - why in God's name would you have some actor to appear on telly when there's all these parents anyway??

Maybe they don't want people who are going to scream, "The bastards wouldn't let me see my baby." Which I'm damned sure I would be doing - refer to the contradictions highlighted in #588.

I'd anticipate that some parents might conceivably be persuaded that they're better off not seeing their child with gun wounds. But equally, there are bound to be people who, like myself and others here have stated, wouldn't in 1,000,000 years accept my child was dead with out seeing it with my own eyes. I don't believe it.
dogsmilk wrote:
*When big, hectic events happen, the media are falling each over each other trying to get whatever they can to fill their reports. The media cannot be treated as if everything it says it gospel and it's automatically deeply suspicious if the story changes or if there are inconsistencies in what's reported. A bunch of reporters will have been running round finding whatever they can to report and copying what each other reported. Expect a degree of confusion. Personally, I'd find it far more odd if the details were 100% established from the outset.

Agreed. But the initial reports of the other suspects, which have never since been mentioned are a bit fishy to say the least. And that can't be written off as confused reporting, since their presence is there in the police radio scan.

It's interesting that there are also some details that they've not retracted / corrected. Such as the assertion throughout that Adam drove himself there in his mum's car, which is the one they found the weapons in the boot of. That car's registered to one of those other vanishing suspects, Christopher Rodia, as heard on the scan, not Mrs Lanza.
dogsmilk wrote:
*Since when is the profile of somebody who snaps and goes on the rampage contingent on how they behave in the hairdressers? Is there any reason to believe somebody who goes on to snap and go on a murderous rampage can't be a quiet, subdued person prior to whatever catalyst? It's a bit like like saying Dennis Nilsen must have been innocent because everybody thought he was such an inoffensive person.

I'd agree with that.
dogsmilk wrote:
How do we even know the teachers weren’t the only ones shot, while the kids were drugged up, photographed, then shipped out to some fucking paedophile ring in the middle of the night?

Well that would implicate everybody who handled the bodies in a big conspiracy, starting with Connecticut's chief medical examiner and fanning down to every single person who was in a position where they'd have seen or handled the bodies in whatever capacity. That is a very significant claim that would require compelling evidence.

Well, you've seen the chief medical examiner. How many people do you think would have seen/handled the bodies. Not that many, I'd have thought. Particularly since they didn't allow the parents to see them. Not that numbers involved is actually of prime importance I think, given the number of huge scale scams that we know are real.

But since I specifically said...
Gilly wrote:
And because I feel some people are deliberately misinterpreting what's being said, let me clarify. I am not saying that I think that is what happened. I'm saying there's a lot of lying, covering up and strange behaviour going on, and there are any number of possibilities as to why that is.

...I'd like that quoted along with it please.
dogsmilk wrote:
I'm not trying to start an argument and don't want a big debate about it - I'm just trying to point out that when hectic shit goes down there can be a habit of people scrutinising the internet looking for 'anomalies' and deciding it all means something - but I don't think any genuine cover-up has ever been busted by people looking at online media and drawing conclusions from it.

I didn't think your post came across as an argument - just logical, relevant observations, which are much appreciated.

I actually think there's a possibility that if plenty of people get on the right track, there's a chance that somebody in the know might crack and spill the beans. Or it might persuade someone with clout to delve more deeply. Maybe that's just wishful thinking. I'm pretty sure no cover-up's ever been busted by people who think something's wrong turning a blind eye to it and so failing to explore it though.

This is possible, but would seem to be quite speculative.

That is what we are all doing here on the internetz
On the one hand, one post ago you stated that it is impossible to decide what 'normal' behaviour is, but you do feel qualified to discern the likely behaviour and character of a child based on a one minute interview with someone who he'd never spoken to!

Actually I didn't base anything on the video. I didn't even watch the video or comment on the video. I commented on your response. I based my speculation on my knowledge of basic psychology and from documentation about similar people. Obviously somebody that commits a violent act like this who is usually quiet and shy is not socially brave as you might say but obviously he was not feeling so shy and quiet on that particular day.
Would you say breaking into a school and gunning down 26 people takes more or less bravery than talking to a hairdresser?[\quote]

As I already said I don't think this was a case of bravery. If you are socially awkward and shy or whatever then talking to a barber is tough. Also I might add that his mother's presence could also effect his behaviour. On the flip side of that when he entered the school he was obviously not himself.

Take Kip kinkel as a comparison case. He was not shy to my knowledge but he was no tough guy generally. After the shootings on the police tapes he is screaming and crying. He is not Rambo. These school shooters are generally "nerds" for want of a better word. Their guns give them power that they usually don't possess. Lots of speculation but not blind.
BTW, I think your assessment of the news media is highly optimistic to say the least.

I didn't really make one. I just explained how the media operates.

No but sadly I have no power over news media. You can discuss what you like. I was just explaining that this false information is a result of how media works and not a conspiracy.
As information is continually updated ... who decides when is the proper time to look at it and discuss in a meaningful way? Is it not helpful to point out the discrepancies when they arise in order to get a clearer picture?

If you base all your information on the premise that this is a conspiracy then you will always find oddities. You can always discuss what you want to as I said but if you take a news report as gospel then you are making, in my view, a mistake. It is like doing a book review on the movie based on the book.

Generally, I would agree with you, except that in the case of 9/11, almost anything useful with regards to a critique of the event has come from precisely this source. Obviously, I know you will disagree with this because you completely accept the NIST / 9/11 Commission version of events, which is fair enough.

I haven't looked at this much, as it's going to be impossible to prove anything. But I think it's valid to look at what occurred especially as a lot of political capital is being made out of it.

I don't think that's true. Just look at the good quality journalistic work that's been done over the years by the likes of, say, Jason Burke.
I've never said I "completely" accept the NIST or Commission version of events - I just don't think any buildings were detonated by explosives and I don't think it was an inside job. They're two different propositions.

And political capital was made out of that in a big way. As it is indeed with Sandy Hook. The danger is assuming the making of political capital out of the events has any bearing on how the events themselves went down. It is of course valid to look at what occurred, I am just advising caution about getting carried away with the significance of 'anomalies' it is virtually inevitable you will find if you look hard enough.

On the topic of political capital I think there are plenty of shootings government or the NRA could exploit to sell more guns or use to ban them. So no need to make one up.

It's not unusual for people to be in a state of shock and behave in a seemingly odd fashion, nor is it unusual to see different grief reactions. It's possible those who were ostensibly more together looking were both willing and deemed suitable to appear on telly saying stuff because they presented like they could string a sentence together. I would guess that for some of them the reality hadn't actually sunk in and they felt they were living in some kind of bad dream. Some of them may at that point not quite have accepted it had really happened.

I find the notion some of them 'paid off' a bit perplexing - you're accusing them of being knowing accessories to murdering children. I think if someone spared my child on the basis others were killed and I went on telly to talk about it, I think I'd be pretty shook up and very nervous. It's also not a very nice accusation to make without a real reason to make it.

But equally, there are bound to be people who, like myself and others here have stated, wouldn't in 1,000,000 years accept my child was dead with out seeing it with my own eyes. I don't believe it.

As I said above, I'd certainly think they'd want those more likely to sound coherent on telly.
I can understand what you're saying, but you don't actually know how you'd react until (God forbid) it happens.
I think it swings both ways. I can understand the point about wanting, needing even, to see them. but I can also understand there might be reservations about showing a parent their small child that may be unrecognisable whose identity they already know.
I think it's a valid point about finding it odd, but I don't think it directly suggests anything beyond finding it odd.

Agreed. But the initial reports of the other suspects, which have never since been mentioned are a bit fishy to say the least. And that can't be written off as confused reporting, since their presence is there in the police radio scan.

I haven't followed this other suspects business really, so I'm a bit in the dark here. I guess it's whether there turns out to be solid evidence of others being involved or confusion during the events themselves. If someone is going on a sudden arbitrary killing rampage, I daresay it's pretty easy to start seeing gunmen everywhere.
It's interesting that there are also some details that they've not retracted / corrected. Such as the assertion throughout that Adam drove himself there in his mum's car, which is the one they found the weapons in the boot of. That car's registered to one of those other vanishing suspects, as heard on the scan, not Mrs Lanza.

Don't know about all that. Got a link. Please don't tell me to read the thread - it's pretty long at this point and I've only dipped in and out as I haven't been around much.

Well, you've seen the chief medical examiner. How many people do you think would have seen/handled the bodies. Not that many, I'd have thought. Particularly since they didn't allow the parents to see them. Not that numbers involved is actually of prime importance I think, given the number of huge scale scams that we know are real.

Well I'd guess this would encompass all the people on the scene - including the survivors who saw anything - and everybody involved with the chain down to the funeral - so for example you'd be including the undertakers who would know if they were disposing of bodies or not. What happened is a really big deal - it's of course fine to talk about whatever on internet forums, but I just think there has to be a process of stepping back for a second to think about the implications of what might be being said. I myself wouldn't want to suggest people were potentially knowingly involved in doing awful things to children unless I was pretty darned sure of my ground.
But since I specifically said...

And because I feel some people are deliberately misinterpreting what's being said, let me clarify. I am not saying that I think that is what happened. I'm saying there's a lot of lying, covering up and strange behaviour going on, and there are any number of possibilities as to why that is.

Yes there could be a number of things going on. My money is usually on the police fucking something up. That's my tendency to assume I guess.
I actually think there’s a possibility that if plenty of people get on the right track, there’s a chance that somebody in the know might crack and spill the beans. Or it might persuade someone with clout to delve more deeply. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking. I’m pretty sure no cover-up’s ever been busted by people who think something’s wrong turning a blind eye to it and so failing to explore it though.

Maybe. Or could be that in time it comes out people didn't do something they were supposed to or whatever. Or nothing.

I agree people shouldn't just turn a blind eye to things. I think it's a good thing that people don't take stuff for granted. I said what I did because I think it can also swing the other way and stuff can start to run away with itself.
When I was on the DIF I saw this repeatedly at its extreme - if anything big happened you could guarantee that within half an hour there would be at least one thread claiming it was a conspiracy. I remember even when that freak sandstorm happened in Germany people were claiming it was faked (for some bizarre reason). One path leads to mute acceptance of everything, the other path leads to seeing conspiracies all over the place. I think this seems odd - what's that about?? needs to be regarded with restraint - sometimes things that seem weird or anomalous might indicate something bigger is afoot, sometimes it might turn out to be not that weird or it might simply be a case of shit happens. What I don't get with all this is what's supposed to be the big reason for staging anything. Like America needs another endless debate about guns that will probably end in stalemate.
