Looks like that last post was a tad optimistic :D
Tom Sawyer
I don't understand the apparent war on the police by HMG.
Working multiagency the amount of staff that are attached to social care, schools, health, employment and all the public sectors is ridiculous.
The high schools sometimes have 3 or 4 attendance officers for example. My department has 10 managers for 115 staff with over 50 of these staff on secondment answerable to otherline managers. We have 3 admin staff where as we used to have one.
It just seems that the rest of the public sector is very bloated and wasteful yet it's us that are getting it in the neck.
Don't get me wrong there are 5 of us cops in our multi agency and 2 of us could cope and I think we should be culled even if that is me but the front lines are sceaming for cops.
Madness and don't even get me going about non essential NHS staff and wastage.

Did I say something about willfull blindness before in this thread? That post whilst on topic, is kind of so out of the thread's train that it didn't even bother to get to the station. Still looking at the pavement 2 feet ahead.....

I'm too tired tonight to respond in any meaningful way but come the weekend......

Ok, I'm picking up this ball again:

Me:
I take it that you're all aware of the recent and ongoing scandal with Barclays. Barclays being the biggest corporation on the planet last time I checked. Obviously other banks have been implicated and will soon be similarly condemned.
Now we have Mr Bob Diamond claiming that the Bank of England, Whitehall officials and the Labour Party were all colluding to tinker with the LIbor and Euribor rates.

So, is it becoming any clearer to you all that the things I'm contending here are not baseless? That what we are dealing with IS in fact a corporate takeover that has been going on for a long time and is still marching on? I hope so.

Everything I've stated in this thread is based on extensive research and life experience. Research that shows we are being led down the garden path by a small but incredibly powerful group of what can only be described as criminals. These are the people behind Winsor. These are the people behind the "Global Economic Crisis". These are the people pushing Austerity. These are the people setting up our unborn grandchildren as debt slaves. These are the people restricting worker's rights, the right to protest, to associate freely, to air one's views and to stand up and say "No".

If I were to commit credit card fraud I'd go to jail. These people can commit credit fraud on a Global scale and the worst that happens is they resign and get a multi million pound payout. This is the world we live in. A world where the law does not apply to everyone. A world where criminals rule.

So I urge you all to revisit my suggestion that the way forward is for ALL of us, to stand together and put an end to it. Face your fears and tell them to get knotted. We the people are what puts food on our tables, we don't need these power mad, capital obsessed thieves pulling our strings. We can look after eachother once we realise a few simple truths.

Easing myself back into the discussion gently :)

478 views over there at present. Now I'm back active there I hope to push that number up significantly.

I wouldn't say barclays is the biggest corp on the planet (that would be 'the crown' or perhaps 'the city of london' bwahahaha!!), I love the rest of it though! :D
Lets face it, if the cops do nothing are they not aiding and abetting criminals? And they patently ARE criminals!

Yeah you'd be right andy i reckon about Barclays. It was the biggest listed corp when I last checked ;)

Yes, if they read between the lines, that's pretty much what I'm saying to them isn't it, that they are aiding and abetting :D

One of my many criticisms of the plod over the years is that in order to enforce laws on 'TPTB' TPTB have to allow it, if a copper wants to arrest me he doesn't wait for the nod from up on high. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with plod if they were consistent in their application of the law. Then I'd just have a problem with the law itself :P

Tbf Oi, I think there is room for discretion being applied by the beat rozzers. For instance I was busking with a small group once when a passer by hurled some abuse at one of our troop, who then chased after him and cornered him in a shop. The 50 were called and arrested him for D+D. I embarked on a convo with the 50 and after a few minutes they agreed to de-arrest my fellow noise maker. Realistically, according to the book, he should have been taken to custody but the 50 used their discretion and released him :)

If they enforced every law to the letter, the state of things would get much worse.......That is not the same as some people being 'above the law' though and in that regard I obviously totally agree with you.

And then people may 'wake up' to what "law" is and the role of the police in enforcing it. Judges are there to judge. ;)

You should ask them about Roger Hayes, dubs.

About his arrest yesterday morning, where he was tried in a secret court and then jailed with no jury.

I'll be amazed if you get a response at all let alone anything worth listening too.

It's an idea sket. I think you're right though that it would go way over their heads. I am going to bring up a related topic though. Namely the treasonous act of surrendering sovereignty to Europe ;) Perhaps, I'll mention RH in that 'chapter' so TY for suggesting it.

Part of the problem is that the UK does not have a constitution that outlines the limit of power and also the responsibility of power itself and the 'law' as paramount.
A lot of people think that magna carta is the constitution, it aint.

At the end of the day the law in the UK is whatever those in power deem it to be. Its not so much that they are above the law as that there simply is no 'law', not in the way that well educated decent people would define it.

We need a written document clearly outlining the limits of power. The US govt is actually restricted compared to the UK, I know some might find that unbelievable but it is true...

That's kinda my understanding of it too. We have guidelines which are used to set precedent and this is then generally accepted as 'law'. So when the plod are then allowed to interpret these guidelines they are not law enforcers, they are mobile judges.

The Judges set the precedents and this is what we know as 'common law'.
This is opposed to statutes which originate from government in the form of legislation passing through the houses.
A government can issue guidelines to a judge but not tell them exactly how to issue sentence.

In many ways, in the age of on the spot fines etc, yes the 50 operate as mini Judge Dreads. I'm unaware of the statute which entitles this to happen but no doubt there is one. Strictly speaking, your right Oi, there should be no 'interpretation' of the law by the 50. Not sure I'd want to see that happen though as I've said above.

The area of the forum that my thread is in is a bit backwater so I've decided to venture out into the open more and drop in to strategic threads. There is a kernel of awareness over there and I can see there is opportunity to help it grow.

As such I think that initial thread will now be left to die but I'll post up some interesting bits from other threads as and when they come.

No a lot of people understand that the Magna Carta is one of the documents used in maters relating to constitutional issues. Even the Judiciary make that fact clear. The fact that these documents have been deliberately played down by the State is what allows them to circumvent the protection mechanisms contained within the documents.

Law should be the highest authority in the land and this is supposed to be a common law jurisdiction. The vast majority of courts held in this country aren't legitimate.

In the other thread you never bothered to view the entire presentation, you ignored entirely the views of an ex police constable with 30 years service and totally blanked the words of Ken Clarke who has been a prominent MP.

You then present your opinion without tabling anything but your opinion, against the first hand knowledge and years of research conducted and evidenced by these people. No wonder the country is fucked and your children shall be inheriting debts and misery beyond that suffered by previous generations.
