Interesting that you both use a police forum to criticize the police under guise of discussing media and state collusion which in itself could be a interesting debate
I can't speak for FP but for myself, I think you're off the mark there. If I wanted to criticize the Police Service I'd come straight out and do it. I'm not shy
the claim that most members of the public distrust police is based on what research, the claim that officer son this forum have blinkered views because they fear they will loose their jobs again is based on what
I haven't claimed that most public distrust the police. I've stated that at this stage it is necessary for the corporate world to encourage distrust and drive a wedge between the upholders of the law and the citizens of Britain. Do you not see this being played out in the Media? If we were to believe the stuff spouted on the news outlets we public would think you were all taking bribes from people like Murdoch! The people behind this want us to support root and branch reform of the service. Ie replace you with corporate employees. It's Hegelian Dialectic in action. My view from my early days here is that members are justifiably concerned about their own futures. I am attempting to encourage you all to draw back your focus and see that you are not alone. We are all in this together and all being similarly 'screwed'. As yet, I've seen little acceptance of that here, I'm hoping that will change.
The media in whatever form depending upon on its political stance will always attempt to project a certain image / argument to support it s own cause/ belief or supporters, the BBC is no different although argumentation could be made as it is paid for directly by licence payers it should have a more balance output
The media is promoting the roll out of the corporate world because they are corporate. It's that simple. Another inevitability of the corporate model. This has nothing to do with politics. Politics is a distraction I'd encourage you to see beyond. This is to do with money, power and control.
However their views are no different from yours and the way you word your posts you have a agenda base don your own limited experiences and attempt to suggest you are correct and in this case police officers are wrong because all they do is focus on a closed police world
Trust me, the media's views are very different to my own! My 'agenda' if there is one is to encourage you all to look at the big picture in order to understand what is happening to both yourselves and the wider public. Not to state you are "wrong"
All that does is create more animosity ... I will agree that on this and other forums some of the comments and reactions from a small number of people claiming to be police officers in relation to the Winsor reviews and general cutbacks would lead you to believe they live on a totally different planet
The reporting in the media re so called gold plated pensions, objection to modernisation and reform are as you suggest designed to cause distrust between the police and members of the public, as does the misguided and ill informed debate on taser use
Ahah some agreement! This is great. I'm glad you
can see that there is a design in play here. One not limited to reform/corporatisation of the police service.
Most police officers have family working in other sectors and are fully aware of what is going on and are more than capable of having a open debate what we are unable to do is have a open and honest debate with the general public because they do not understand the job, htey do not know how close to collapse the whole system is and how tee thing only works due to the good will of those in the job, that is not narrow minded or blinkered you could probally say the same about most occupations.
I really do think you're misinterpreting what FP and I are saying. We too can see how the service is being run down and how bad it's got. We're merely trying to stimulate the debate about why it's happening. I vow to not mention blinkers from now on, how's that? Of course everyone in this atomised, post Thatcher Britain thinks about themselves first. That's all part of the design. This is a long term plan that is now approaching the 'end game'.
the problem is that the public in general are fed rubbish every day about what we do or dont do and have come to accept it as fact and as you say you have to wonder what is behind this constant negative reporting like wise the same agencies keep telling the police the public dont trust them that is not my experience of the people i deal with
The public
are fed rubbish and propaganda daily on many many subjects. I did wonder why so I took the time to research things. This is when I discovered the real forces at play here. That what this is all about is a global corporate takeover. It's not a 'conspiracy theory' it's cold hard documented fact I'm sad to say. We are all being played. Our perceptions of the World are being manipulated by the media in order to keep us divided. The one thing that could stop this corporate march is if the people were united. There is the reason for the discrepancies between fact and what the media portrays.
The recent privatisation of some police functions, the debate to 'sell' off more tasks to the private sector, the appointment of winsor to a role where he can influence more selling off of police functions should be a concern, couple this with media reporting should give most people cause for concern
Absobloodylutely!
Will the wider debate develop I dont think so, this tpopic shows event when people appear to be making a valid point there is always a underlying trait and again this seems to be another of those subtle digs at the police
Again, as you get to know me, I hope you'll realise that I am not digging at the police. I'm playing with a straight bat. You can take my words literally, there's no need to look for a subtext.
