Seriously? Quoting a comment from within a thread and commenting on it is random? If you say so Dubs. :conf: I must have strolled into the wrong dimension this evening.

No sorry frog. I think it's I that has strolled into another dimension. You're right, that quote is from this thread. I mistakenly thought it had jumped from the RH thread :emb: As you were :)

This is not good  I've been heavily moderated whilst discussing the BBC with a moderator :conf: He asked me to clarify my comments, I did, with evidence. Then I went back 20 minutes later and the whole section of that thread is gone.......With not a word of explanation. It was on topic, polite, backed up, linked and now it's gone.

Someone over there is playing silly beggers

EDIT: The section was moved to a new thread in the NEWS area, another sleepy backwater :conf: I have of course raised a public eyebrow. Good news though, I'm not alone over there :hypo: Someone called firepower is singing a pretty identical tune to myself :D

To date DG, THIS is the only forum where this has never happened to me before. This particular bit of censorship took me by surprise though I will say. The mod that did it was Anna32, who has been active in my Winsor thread and who I thought I'd got a bit of mutual respect going with...I've called her on it and suggested she is trying to get my thoughts out of sight.....

EDIT: Mmm they are saying it was off topic, despite the thread being about a BBC program that was called "can we trust the police" and my posts being about why the BBC may have a part to play in spreading/growing mistrust of the police

There are two mods involved and they are both being civil and polite but this is not cool. Still a hand has been shown...

EDIT EDIT: I am already loving discovering firepower. We are literally harmonizing :) PM lines of communication are now open so hopefully we can work together now. :)

This is from the spilt thread that has been given the title " Media and the State Collusion?" by the mod (Fedster) That did the split
Fedster: Moderator
The BBC want/need the public to distrust the Police? Could you expand on that.
Me:
Gladly fedster.
The BBC is the broadcasting arm of the state. No more, no less. A state which is 100% in collusion with the super connected trans national corporations. As I've been at pains to point out in the thread I started, the trans nationals have been and are staging a takeover. It's an inevitable consequence of the corporate model. I'll refer you to the thread rather than repeat too much here, https://www.ukpoliceo...ts-talk-winsor/
but for example, the corporate is now well on it's way into the heart of policing.
All main stream media is corporate. Therefore they present the world to the public in such a way that aids the corporate plan. It's a perfect plan.
Big things are headed our way, not many of them nice. It is essential to the corporate plan that when things really start to crumble, the police service stays 'on side'. Building distrust etc is a fantastic way to put a wedge between the services and the people. Likewise, reducing frontline numbers and therefore having to introduce more heavy handed methods of crowd control for example also aids the plan. It's a big and deep rabbit hole! One which has very powerful criminals at the bottom.
Firepower:
Because it further divides you from us and works in both directions. The public start to lose trust in the police so when the cuts in funding start to bite then there will be no support for you leaving you vulnerable. As the cuts deplete your numbers the tactics used to control the population will become ever more brutal. As you are aware the use of tasers as force multipliers is already being discussed. It is a downward spiral that is simple but devastatingly effective. Divide and conquer. As you will also be aware the private sector are already waiting in the wings and although the policing model is less than perfect at present the idea that we will eventually be policed by private companies who owe allegiance to shareholders is a particularly chilling thought.

Fedster:
How can the BBC be the broadcasting arm of the state, when it has broadcast many programmes, reported on issues that show the state in a bad light, yes Goverment ministers ring the BBC demanding such and such a show is delayed, cancelled because it shows them in a bad light, Panarama is 1 of those, but the BBC went on and broadcast the shows, surely that shows they are NOT the broadcasting arn of the state?

Be interesting to see any evidence you have which supports your argument.
Me:
The British Broadcasting CORPORATION trades by Royal Charter. https://www.bbc.co.uk...n/agreement.pdf
It 's charter decrees that it must be apolitical. As in it must not side with one party or another. This gives it a pretty free rein to take pop shots at ministers etc. For the Establishment knows that power doesn't lie with the political parties. The State cares not a jot which party holds the majority in Parliament.

However as a part of the charter, The BBC must represent Britain. Therein lies the clue. For Britain, read the British State. The continual fawning over the Monarchy being a case in point. We must not confuse the State with politics. Should the governor of the BBC ever try to steer it down a republican path for example they'd be at the dole queue in minutes. In that sense the BBC is not an independent broadcaster. Independent of party politics yes, independent of the State No.
Firepower:
"Me
Thank you for posting that. Couldn't have put it better myself. I did try but the posts have gone whooooosh to elsewhere."

My pleasure. I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories at all, JFK was shot by Oswald and it was not a particularly good shot given the circumstances. That said I have been been on this planet for fifty years and with age comes a kind of wisdom, well perhaps not wisdom but a clearer picture of what is happening around me. The prospect of private companies who only have allegiance to shareholders policing the population is a truly frightening prospect. The officers on this board can only see the small picture because they are focussed on the fact that their jobs are at risk, given the current political climate they are right to worry about being thrown on the scrap heap. I tried to describe the "long game" to someone earlier in the day and came up with the analogy of blinkers. A horse that is blinkered only sees a narrow view of the world. The truth is that unless you take a proper look at the world then you are blinkered not in the physical sense but the temporal. As time passes you only see what is directly in front of you and react to the reality that is the here and now, in the case of the officers it is the fear of being unemployed. That narrows the vision and allows the powers that be to do as they please completely unnoticed by everyone else.

To be perfectly frank my opinions of the police have changed since I started interacting with them on here. It was my own fault and as aware as I am of the manipulation that goes on I still fell for the divide and conquer tactic. This resulted in an opinion of the police that was unwarranted and in retrospect foolish. I only hope that they themselves will stop making offhand remarks about tinfoil hats and actually think outside the box, to use a dreadful corporate term.
Me:
Wise words. Something I have raised in the Winsor thread I started. in that thread, I too have encouraged the members to draw their focus back to the wider picture. I too can understand why they may be currently focussed on the closer to home. My contention is that at this stage, in order to deal with close to home stuff, we need to deal with the big picture stuff. It's my hope that my time here will be of assistance to that end
Firepower:
Thank you. I read what you were saying in the Windsor thread and saw sense in the words. The major problem in the forum will be dogma and intractable views forged by limited experience outside of the closed police world. They are as guilty as the public of closing ranks and distrusting the "other side" when there really is no "other side" The idea that there are two opposing forces is a masterful manipulation. The losers will be both us and the police. I actually remember respecting the police and trusting them. I do not believe for a second that the average person wearing the uniform is complicit in the events that are upon us other than that fact that they are just as narrow of thought as the mops that see them as the enemy.

Me:
Ok, lets start again

As I've said, the BBC, despite it not liking admitting it, is the officially chartered broadcasting wing of the British State.

It is a Royally chartered corporation. The British State, the Crown etc is right up there in the wealth department. The Queen's holdings are valued around £17 trillion. Here is a link to an article which highlights just how powerful a figure on the World stage this frail and apparently powerless figurehead really is:

https://www.newstates...world-australia

Note that the holdings include 13 of the 24 Global Tax havens. Tax havens that are used by the major shareholders in the super connected trans-nationals.

It is well known that the major media outlets are corporate and that ultimately the major shareholders link in to this web of connected investors.

So, given that it is not wise to shoot one's own foot, it would be logical to say that the major media outlets will act primarily in accordance with their major shareholders' wishes. Whilst not using quite the same mechanism, the BBC is similarly tied. It is not about to expose our figurehead's true position on the World stage because if it did, it would lose it's Royal Charter.

This gives us the picture that literally nothing we see in the Main stream media can be trusted to be unbiased and factual. It will of necessity be pushing a message that serves the aims of it';s masters. Those masters being the most powerful and wealthy people on the planet.
Firepower:
Indeed let's start again Anna, you the police are being played by those above you it is really as simple as that. As the numbers of officers fall due to the cuts in the budgets you will be forced into using tactics that will alienate you further from the public. As it stands the public at large have little confidence in the police at best. As the remedies to the the lack of boots on streets are rolled out, such as the met looking at tasers to fill the gap by making a single police officer "more efficient" the public will come to fear you more and support will recede further. You need the support of the public whether you believe that or not it is a fact. Without our support you are on your own and will be decimated and replaced by private security companies who only answer to shareholders. As you will appreciate that is an unenviable position for both you as police officers and us as the public.

The mere fact that ACPO is a limited company and therefore unaccountable to the public is a travesty and while you, the front line officers, are crucified by youtube they are untouchable. Television is one of your worst enemies especially the police camera action type programmes. Ruffy and Duffy if I remember their names correctly although at my age it could be possible that I am mistaken, the fat bald one and the one that apparently does not own a razor is all but a parody. Do you think that this is by accident or design?
Me:
That design being to keep the public divided whilst the corporate global state is rolled out. To keep us squabbling amongst ourselves and oblivious to the machinations of those that are pushing this agenda. The Police service and the military are CRUCIAL in this. It really is getting to the stage where it's time to choose a side. To lay aside our personal differences and unite in opposition to what is planned for us ALL.

Interesting that you both use a police forum to criticize the police under guise of discussing media and state collusion which in itself could be a interesting debate

I can't speak for FP but for myself, I think you're off the mark there. If I wanted to criticize the Police Service I'd come straight out and do it. I'm not shy
the claim that most members of the public distrust police is based on what research, the claim that officer son this forum have blinkered views because they fear they will loose their jobs again is based on what

I haven't claimed that most public distrust the police. I've stated that at this stage it is necessary for the corporate world to encourage distrust and drive a wedge between the upholders of the law and the citizens of Britain. Do you not see this being played out in the Media? If we were to believe the stuff spouted on the news outlets we public would think you were all taking bribes from people like Murdoch! The people behind this want us to support root and branch reform of the service. Ie replace you with corporate employees. It's Hegelian Dialectic in action. My view from my early days here is that members are justifiably concerned about their own futures. I am attempting to encourage you all to draw back your focus and see that you are not alone. We are all in this together and all being similarly 'screwed'. As yet, I've seen little acceptance of that here, I'm hoping that will change.
The media in whatever form depending upon on its political stance will always attempt to project a certain image / argument to support it s own cause/ belief or supporters, the BBC is no different although argumentation could be made as it is paid for directly by licence payers it should have a more balance output

The media is promoting the roll out of the corporate world because they are corporate. It's that simple. Another inevitability of the corporate model. This has nothing to do with politics. Politics is a distraction I'd encourage you to see beyond. This is to do with money, power and control.
However their views are no different from yours and the way you word your posts you have a agenda base don your own limited experiences and attempt to suggest you are correct and in this case police officers are wrong because all they do is focus on a closed police world

Trust me, the media's views are very different to my own! My 'agenda' if there is one is to encourage you all to look at the big picture in order to understand what is happening to both yourselves and the wider public. Not to state you are "wrong"
All that does is create more animosity ... I will agree that on this and other forums some of the comments and reactions from a small number of people claiming to be police officers in relation to the Winsor reviews and general cutbacks would lead you to believe they live on a totally different planet

The reporting in the media re so called gold plated pensions, objection to modernisation and reform are as you suggest designed to cause distrust between the police and members of the public, as does the misguided and ill informed debate on taser use

Ahah some agreement! This is great. I'm glad you can see that there is a design in play here. One not limited to reform/corporatisation of the police service.
Most police officers have family working in other sectors and are fully aware of what is going on and are more than capable of having a open debate what we are unable to do is have a open and honest debate with the general public because they do not understand the job, htey do not know how close to collapse the whole system is and how tee thing only works due to the good will of those in the job, that is not narrow minded or blinkered you could probally say the same about most occupations.

I really do think you're misinterpreting what FP and I are saying. We too can see how the service is being run down and how bad it's got. We're merely trying to stimulate the debate about why it's happening. I vow to not mention blinkers from now on, how's that? Of course everyone in this atomised, post Thatcher Britain thinks about themselves first. That's all part of the design. This is a long term plan that is now approaching the 'end game'.
the problem is that the public in general are fed rubbish every day about what we do or dont do and have come to accept it as fact and as you say you have to wonder what is behind this constant negative reporting like wise the same agencies keep telling the police the public dont trust them that is not my experience of the people i deal with

The public are fed rubbish and propaganda daily on many many subjects. I did wonder why so I took the time to research things. This is when I discovered the real forces at play here. That what this is all about is a global corporate takeover. It's not a 'conspiracy theory' it's cold hard documented fact I'm sad to say. We are all being played. Our perceptions of the World are being manipulated by the media in order to keep us divided. The one thing that could stop this corporate march is if the people were united. There is the reason for the discrepancies between fact and what the media portrays.
The recent privatisation of some police functions, the debate to 'sell' off more tasks to the private sector, the appointment of winsor to a role where he can influence more selling off of police functions should be a concern, couple this with media reporting should give most people cause for concern

Absobloodylutely!
Will the wider debate develop I dont think so, this tpopic shows event when people appear to be making a valid point there is always a underlying trait and again this seems to be another of those subtle digs at the police

Again, as you get to know me, I hope you'll realise that I am not digging at the police. I'm playing with a straight bat. You can take my words literally, there's no need to look for a subtext.
Firepower:
I have no agenda whatsoever. I will make critical observations if I feel there is a need to and I feel that it is fair to do so. Should serving officers wish to engage in a debate then I listen to what they are saying and if it makes sense then I adjust my opinion accordingly as has happened on numerous occasions since joining the forum. On some topics there will never be a consensus but that is the nature of the beast. In fact I would go as far as to say that I have warmed to your cause rather than becoming further entrenched in any views or opinions that I held before coming here.

Now back to the topic

The theme I get from over there is that they are all paranoid to heck! There is a real problem. Their heads have been well and truly messed with by a war of attrition. I'm finding this all really hard work but I aint giving up.

Yes andy, I learnt some time ago that when you are taking contentious topics to people who may dismiss them, it's best to choose your sources wisely ;) You and I know that any source can be suspect but it's amazing how far a reputable source will go as opposed to say a blogger or a conspiracy collator :)

Simon T:
Where i have personally been involved in incidents that the media have reported it has been shocking to see how wildly inaccurate they are. On one occasions they reported the air ambulance attending a child hit with a car when there was none and it only came out some 4 hours later across town for a man who jumped out of his flat. No idea how they could mess that one up.

It could however be the fact tthat we are very reluctant to speak to the press, probably for obvious reasons and only give them info which has been sanitised and checked repeatedly. However, if you look at the average headline about police its no wonder. Im not sure who started it but we seem to have got in a loop.

The media seem to take a story about police (and others but the police stand out) that could easily be reported in a reasonable way and they twist it as hard as possible to make us look as bad as they can.
So you get headlines like 'Police taster man in face for no reason' (says crazyy person who wasnt there and doesnt know anything)) But instead of generally reporting what happened the headline is some wild speculation that is very anti police and the fact that its conjecture or wrong is only briefly reported in the main piece..

But i think its our society, stories about celebs getting married or pregnant do well, but celebs getting divorced or some sort of scandal do even better. Who wants to hear that the police are generally good at what they do and are helpful and productive - yawn. But if they are all racist useless bullies trying to build a fascist state, what a story!

Im not a believer in conspiracy, if we had a government actually capable of pulling off somehing as sophisticated as that we woulndt be in such a mess and they would still be able to make a stack of money

As I keep saying, this isn't about government. Government is way down the line of the power hierarchy. They are transient whilst the power structure is persistent.

On the subject of BBC inaccuracy in reporting, it would be wrong of me not to bring this one up! :

*Linked to the BBC report of WTC7 collapsing*

Reporting that WTC7 collapsed 20 minutes before it did with the building clearly visible behind the correspondent..........Well yeah um ok :g:

Anyway let's not get drawn into that one!

Still it's an example of some very suspect reporting on a global stage. We've recently had them using a photo from Iraq years ago to back up claims of a massacre in Syria. Then before that the case of them using footage from a computer game and saying it was footage of the IRA downing a helicopter.

At best these represent incidences of very very poor practice. At worst they show that the BBC will literally go to any lengths to justify whatever propaganda they are pushing on the day....

Closer to home we regularly see them distorting the facts. I brought up my historical political activity in the Winsor thread so for anyone that hasn't read it, please do before you jump down my throat over this next bit!

I was present at a march in the 90s that aimed to pass the BNP HQ in Lewisham, SE London. The State decided this was not a good idea (which in hindsight was probably wise). When we arrived at a crossroads in a housing estate we found our path blocked by ranks of police. No problem with that, the police were doing a job. However, what was surprising was that the BBC already had several cameras mounted on the roofs of houses around the crossroads. They were fully expecting things to turn ugly at that particular point it seems. Who tipped them off? Well that would be them that decided to put your good selves there to stop the march from turning right.......Guess how it panned out on the Evening news...

Similarly as I mentioned in the Winsor thread, the reporting on the passing of the Criminal Justice act was similarly 'suspect'. The public were told that those of us patiently waiting to lobby had attempted to storm Parliament...

You all have similar tales of BBC distortion, bias and agenda I am sure. It seems clear from reading here that you do.

The State will use it's broadcasting arm to portray whatever image suits the State at the time. Currently it suits the State to be portraying you lot as untrustworthy bribe taking thugs....Guess it's your turn!

But what lies beneath all this, that's the question? And as I keep saying, the answer is keeping us divided. Divided along any lines they can. Race, religion, salary, political views or whatever. Just as long as we are kept isolated from each other. It's about protecting a powerbase. We are many and they are few. This is an age old tactic that has never gone away. Sadly many are simply not wise to it.
