What can I say master. I say it how I see it :dunno:

When SZ1 moved to here there were around 30 members. It stayed around there for a good while until :seany did his rumours thread. Then many new members signed up here and they keep coming. Most have settled in well and become happy members of the place. A few haven't found the place to their taste and left, an even smaller few have contributed in ways the community didn't appreciate and left another way.....
The more the merrier :) You can call that cliquey or say that some of us are aggravated by newcomers if you like of course....

With respect Master, I think you might have misread this site, (or it's certainly possible I may have).
It's not a commercial concern and no-one is employed to work here.

There was mass dissatisfaction and frustration with the last site we all frequented.
Diamond geezer voluntarily stuck his hand in his pocket to hire this open door 24hr cafe where we can all sit around and chat about allsorts. (There's a jar on the counter if you're able and want to chip to help him pay the rent).
Novum and Frog volunteered their considerable tech skills to decorate the joint and make it all cozy 'n stuff. (Our very own Justin & Colin)
The lovely Psketti adds a great sense of humour and will occasionally slap your head and tell you to get your feet off the tables.

They are all users who put their hand up to help. They are trusted and we're thankful to them for their efforts.
However, their decisions are all subject to discussion and perhaps a vote by us all. So 'the power' lies in the many, these guys deserve no shit imo.

The mods and admin here are not a separate breed to be treated differently or have participation limits applied to them. In fact, they deserve to participate more than most because they've earned it and given a commitment. (Often a thankless task).

"Cliquey" is a funny term. The longer you spend around folks, the more you end up understanding their various traits & viewpoints, (that does not necessarily mean you agree with them btw), Sometimes you develop a better understanding of someone precisely because you went nose-to-nose with them and were still adult enough to agree to disagree.
My advice is to park your preconceived notions, hang around for a while. If it grows on you great! If it doesn't, move on without animosity.
S'all good.

Cheers feather. Between yourself and dubs it all couldn't be made any clearer.

But being my usual sceptical self, I fear however that the ones picking away will continue to find things to pick at and not heed any of the points or advice given. Their reasons for this, have still to be defined.

What I'm getting at Feather is that this site promotes itself as 'A david icke alternative forum' and there are numerous issues regarding these type of websites. So in order to be alternative then changes should occur for the better.

So to clear up the confusion Psketti, I am saying it might be an idea to have a more professional route of admin whereby admin/mods are not directly involved with threads, this would elevate many preconceived notions in regards to users arguing/taking sides...

So I hope in no way you think I am here to troll or argue my points for self gratification... You should notice this isn't the case by the fact I am still here and that isn't because of stubbornness...

Let me ask you Master. How many people have you seen banned here since you arrived?
Were any banned because they disagreed on a topic with a user wearing a mod/admin badge?

Try that elsewhere and see how it goes.
The very act of attempting to discuss moderation will definitely result in you incurring infraction points, account suspension or a ban on at least one site I can think of.

Now which do you find more 'professional'?

As far as I'm aware, the only reason it was tagged 'A david icke alternative forum' was to improve ratings in search engines. Someone can correct me if that's not actually the case.

It's a tagline and nothing more.

So to clear up the confusion Psketti, I am saying it might be an idea to have a more professional route of admin whereby admin/mods are not directly involved with threads

Just float around the gaff and chill out toby and master11. Dip into to threads that interest you, have a bit of banter, have a laugh, have a serious discussion. Y'know :)
Why define this place? What is the sanctum zone? blah blah...The Sanctum Zone is the Sanctum Zone. A place where everyone is equal, a place with no heirachy or bullshit agenda, nothing to sell, no power hungry authoratarian mods with a vested interest.

It's a fucking brilliant place  Simple as that :D

From what I can gather the bolded section is your proposition. (correct me or clarify if I'm wrong please).
If that were put to a community vote would you be satisfied to abide by the outcome?

You refer to "many preconceived notions in regards to users arguing/taking sides" It may be of some value if you could list those notions.

Before you cast a sceptical eye over the above, I'm merely looking at how we might resolve your concerns.
No-one minds discussion here if it's kept within reasonable limits of civility.
Sure we can all be pushed over that line sometimes but then we need to just moderate ourselves better.

I just think that if mods/admin aren't directly involved as users they could do the job of overseeing users who use foul language, bullying tactics etc from an angle that is not personal...

Using the terms 'An alternative David Icke forum' would be considered piggy backing from a competitors intellectual property, which again is a good move in respect to gaining more users... So this surely is what the owners are looking at doing... Gaining more users... In order to do that you have to have an alternative approach and make it a different experience, my point is that all forums are the same, with the same characters and same issues... It won't be too long till a company comes along and reproduces a new concept in this sector for profit and headhunts many more users and gains a bigger name, in that case this website will be left with the same old faithful users so all is good if that is what the select users want.

No I was invited.
I was banned from the DIF sometime later in what is commonly known as a stitch up. If you take some time to have a read of the place my experience and many many others are all here for you to read. If it's ok with you I'd rather not dig it all up again and rewrite it. I've got other stuff I'm trying to do. Have a look round if you are interested

I assume your reply was in response to "we need to just moderate ourselves better."
Care to address the vote and notions parts?

I'll be frank and say I have little confidence that the usership will be in favour of effectively muting the mod/admin folks because my impression is that the majority will feel they deserve a voice too and have much to offer but I'm throwing it out there anyway.

Yes Feather, simply just the notion that moderators who aren't directly involved with posting or interested in friendships online. An independent moderator in lesser words.
There is nothing wrong in not doing that and I can sure see that many involved in this site wouldn't want to move that forward but in time someone will profit from the downsides that arise in such forums on the internet... They are all similar in someway so it will only be a matter of time till someone comes along who has extrapolated all the info and ironed out all the creases to form a new concept... It wouldn't surprise me if it was an offspring of David Icke's enterprise either... This is why people who disliked DIF for whatever reason looked for an alternative. If you look at the artist Tom Delonge, he is already implementing such a thing to the younger generation and has a following to do so successfully. Also, heavily involved with the corporate side of things and capturing audiences by the millions...
