Do you ever feel the need to worship with people, and be a part of a organized religion, that may be very closed minded, especially if I mention my beliefs about aliens of the extraterrestrial kind.

The church is the biggest one in town, and maybe I can keep a low profile, but on occasion they really have some outstanding cookouts.

honestly :umm: no, i never feel the need :hide:
i've gone to some churches, wanted to jab my eye out with a hot poker before i got out of there though...and if they had had a fireplace and a poker i may have given it a try.

but if that is what you wanna do, go for it... just dont mention :scotty: or you may end up :axe: or worse... burned at the stake :)

edit: also, try and find the strange ones going to church...there are some true freak shows (if you look at them from a religious point of view, they look pretty normal from my POV anyway) present at almost every church... stoners, drunks, and just plain :iitm: if you know what i mean...they are always fun. especially if your in a catholic church or a mormon one, those are the best places to find the truly amazing ones

*no offense intended towards anyone, all of the above is my person opinion... thank you*
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood
and I have no problem with going out the same way

I don't know if I will really go or not,I have noticed some of them have this glassy look in their eyes, and a very strange look about them in general,I can't explain it in a way they seem possessed or controlled, but yes I'm sure there are many closet drunk members, and other things, people are people that what scares me

Last time i went to church proper (not for weddings/funerals etc around family) ...someone tried to pickpocket me...in my leather jacket...true story.

Lucky for me my wallet was in the front pocket of my levi's...a tight fit, so no dude would get his hand in there without me noticing...(except maybe abs as i hear he is quite skilled at such clandestine maneuvers)

Yes, Rick.

I don't think you should feel any embaressement about that.

I go when I feel that need.

May God be with you.

Banks, yes. Offices often. Shopping centres (malls) always.

Churches range from the "meh" to one of the nicest feelings a building can give.

Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples can be nice too.

Aha - I did not know that - maybe he's tried to tickle my tonsils with his tongue, the perve! That can be nauseating. :fraid:

What even are cooties? I've heard this word, but never known what it means.

"Cooties is, in American childlore, a kind of infectious disease. The term may have originated with references to lice, fleas, and other parasites. A child is said to "catch" cooties through any form of bodily contact, proximity, or touching of an "infected" person or from a person of the opposite sex of the same age."

Eww - I've read that Paris visits her local elite spa regularly for a sheepdip.

Sorry to trivialise your thread, Rick.

Do you really get the urge to be involved in the religion, or is it just being part of a close community (and the food, obviously :D ) that appeals to you? I'm guessing the latter, but either way, maybe you should go along and get a feel for it to satisfy your curiosity, if nothing else.

If your motivation for going is the cookouts, then I suggest a trip to Home Depot's BBQ section and a cookbook may satisfy your needs.
If it's more than that, go for it, or be forever wondering.

Food is not a motivator to me ,just a comment about what that particular church is good at.
