When we read stories of male teachers taking advantage of pupils we are quiet rightly repulsed by their actions. Is your reaction to this story the same? After all she is taking advantage of naive young lads and abusing the position of trust she has been placed in.

But, if I'm honest my first reaction was...



followed by a lament that this kind of thing wasn't going on when I was at school.

Should I be worried about the mental trauma that these lads went through? And whether the experience will tarnish their attitude toward women?
Or should I track them down and give them their 'luckiest boys in Wokingham' badges?

I'm in a bit of an ethical quandary and have a hankering for KFC*.

I know exactly what you mean, Hugo. She's not someone I'd want hanging around kids, but I don't feel as outraged as I would if the genders were reversed, and am not sure if I should be.

I'm glad I'm not the only to be unsure how to react.

It got me wondering about what it is about young teenage lads than would be appealing to a forty year old women. Is it just a young & fit thing?

We have two women at my work that are dating younger guys. Both are in their late 40s eary 50s and the boyfriends are mid-20s. Is it just a sexual thing? Do they hold onto a bit of their youth by dating younger guys?
I suppose the same question would apply if the roles were reversed.

As I've said on a previous thread, it is absurd that we're supposed to view 15 year-old females as completely sexless, and then suddenly when they pass from being 15 years 364 days to 16 years old, all of a sudden it's perfectly acceptable to find them attractive, at least legally. Obviously this bears no relation to reality, as absolutely every 15 year-old in the world has had sexual thoughts and feelings, and I would personally have been quite resistant to any adult telling me at the age of 15 that I was too young to know my own mind. It's a prickly and complicated issue that the completely puerile tabloid press covers in a farcical way.

The only thing that makes this a story is the collective delusion that "people don't want to or aren't equipped to have sex before the age of 16".

Why shouldn't kids learn about sex in school, why shouldn't that learning include practical experimentation?

theres got to be a line, so where do you draw it? its to prevent kids getting into something they can't handle. sex and relationships go hand in hand. some old milf with a 15 years old kid is going to be more like oedipus and damage future relationships.

As for kids and sex... I think people should be at least mentally old enough to handle it. Is a 15 year old mentally capable of it? Maybe. Is a 30 year old capable of it? Maybe. It's a person to person basis. It also depends on life situations and whats going on around you...for example, I could handle sex better at 16 than I can now at 26 because of life experiences. It's really a person to person basis...do I want kids at 9, 10, 14, 15 going around doing stuff? No, of course not, there are a lot of risks involved in it and unless they know those risks and how to deal with them, they shouldn't be doing it. And a teacher, a person who people trust their children with, should not be instigating this shit. Yeah, I know a few people who had a tutor who had sex with them at 14, but she was in her 20's I think and it was more of lessons than anything else. And I also know someone who started at 12-13 and now, IMO, she's seriously got some issues where sex is concerned because of those first experiences.

We're all animals... mammals to be specific because of the mammary glands and nursing our offspring (or at least that's how we were meant to feed them).

Women used to get married (and still do in some places) in their teens, some as young as 12-13. Which implies sex happened and children were born around that age too. Views change with the ages...100 years ago someone probably wouldn't have thought twice about an older women and teenage boy (if they were married or she was a prostitute), in today's society it's a no-no.

You probably won't need to trace your family tree back too far before you find your great x granny who was married at 13 and popping out kids from 14-15yrs but did they make that choice?
Did they cope or suffer in silence?
How much of how they cope or what they feel subjected to is set by the standards and expectations of their society?
If no shame was expressed from outside, was shame felt on the inside?

The idea that any 15yr old guy is making rational decisions when faced with dick hiding opportunities is beyond laughable btw.

Its a symptom of authoritarianism and nanny statism to set these hard lines in the sand on such things as the age of consent. A wiser society would be open and non sensationally informative. Everyone would be raised to the best of our abilities to judge for themselves what the right thing to do in the moment is and to know themselves well enough to trust their judgement.

When i was 15 i'd probably have kicked her back door in if given the all clear but then that would have been purely hormonal. I certainly lacked judgment then, i was into hedonism and an odd cross of romanticism and nihlism. Away with the fairies and they werent all nice. Not a sound basis to build a good judgment....

Having said all that.....she's married....with 2 kids...........

Just had a vaguely related memory

Driving the boys back to their mum on sunday and the ballet, nutcracker was mentioned. My 13 yr old said it's a stupid name. My 15 yr old replied, no it's because the ballet is about a nutcracker that comes to life.
So i asked him how come he knows so much about ballet?
He then told me that his gf is doing contemporary dance and ballet. He'd been to see her in a performance of the nut cracker.
He then said, "you'd think that staring at your girlfriend in a skintight suit for 2 and a half hours would be awesome wouldn't you but no, it was shit. Really shit".
