I don't really view humans as much more than savage & barbaric. The majority of humans diets and treatment of animals is a good indicator imo.

I think we kind of need a certain degree of barbarism and savagery to ensure the survival of the species, but at what point does that become detrimental to the survival of the species?
It's like one big murderous cannibalistic balancing act.

How much savagery & barbarism do you require for your daily life? :D
If it starts to affect your neighbourhood, I've heard we can get them vaccinated with the anti-Luis Suaraz vaccine.

If you think you can prove a point, prove it.

Also - as you're such an expert on parenting, I just wondered, are you a parent?

That just comes down to greed I think, and a desire to control. Are all humans greedy and have an unquenchable desire for power control?

Those monsters with plenty have had plenty because they've taken it. IMO this planet can sustain the lives of everyone.

Do you not coach basketball?

Without humans desire to control and dominate, you would be out of a job.

No-one actually gives a fuck about a bag of air going through a hoop.
It's all about displaying dominance over the other guys.
The numbers on the boards might as well be kills

Studying their form and planning game plays is all about maximising dominance.

I don't believe so, no.
But the ones who are are so fucking greedy & controlling that they really fuck it up for everybody else & that has a huge waterfall effect in terms of the emotions of the masses. For example, the capitalist system sets everybody against each other & greed becomes endemic.

Is that a serious question? It's pretty obvious we aren't. Would we all assume the roles adopted by the authority figures in that photo montage? The answer had better be 'no', or we really are kippered. But it's a trait shared by many who've reached the top of the heap - and their willing minions who make themselves available to do their bidding.

When did you last see a cheetah wandering around tescos with a humanely killed free range water buffalo in it's trolley?

Wander across the Serengeti in the buff and see how long you last.

That's what I meant by abundance... in a world of plenty that ensures survival, why do a very few want to control that abundance and keep it all to themselves? All most people need is enough.

Because that isn't enough for them emotionally.
They want to control as much as they possibly can to make up for their own emotional shortfalls.
Otherwise, I imagine an abundant world is well within our reach.

Because some are never satisfied. Greedy, power-mad control freakery, combined perhaps with a fear that someone else with those same traits might snatch it all off them if given the opportunity.

You only think like that because of your misanthropic state of mind feather.

Nobody is getting shot with bullets on the basketball court and it just goes to show the world is becoming a better place.

The day's of Rome and people getting killed while crowds cheer in the Colosseum are over.

We are not Cheetas :D

I'd be depressed if I wasn't so optimistic :chuckle: We humans have a special gift of overcoming barbarism and savagery, kind of rising above our base nature. We don't have to be so brutal.

Correct.
Cheetahs know when to stop. Therefore you don't see them wobbling about in stretch lycra sports tops looking like the Michelin man on acid.

We don't have that gift at all. We are exceptionally good at pretending we do until something threatens our stash.
This is not misanthropy, this is solid anthropology without the Disney makeover.

That's kind of my point. Once abundance is taken by the few and controlled, it basically tricks people into thinking there is very little abundance and we go onto survival auto pilot, and barbarism and savagery often follows as a result, imo

Will you now sing us the song of your people please?

How is it possible to reach your mid-thirties and still believe that position has any grounding in reality?
I'm not being snide with that question.
Really, just how?
