A big part of living abroad is loving the culture as much as your own. I could find a job in Germany (not easy but possible) but I don't think it would suit me. France might and Spain would. I liked Germany when I visited but I don't think I would enjoy living their for any length of time.

I am indeed drawn to them and I enjoyed visiting, although it was only on holiday. I loved Iceland in particular, but the language is difficult to learn and almost impossible to pronounce properly. German is probably managable though.

My parents love living in France and it's much better than the UK, they learned French to a decent standard before they moved, which helps.

You're in Italy aren't you? Now that's a lovely country, the people seemed very warm and friendly when I visited. You're an English teacher aren't you?

I am and I am. Andy came over last week and stayed here, in fact.
If you especially love Iceland then stick at it. It can't be as hard as Japanese (I was there for six years).
