Is there one other than to make a career selling books, hosting websites, radio shows and producing DVD's?

Do you think CT should have achieved things by now, if so what?

Do you think CT can achieve things in the future, if so what?

Again seems a bit vague and using a label like 'CT' instead of perhaps being more accurate?

How about replacing CT with Alex Jones?

Not really, CT refers to Conspiracy theories, I'm not making this thread to repeat some worn out point about Alex the wingnut jones ;)

This thread is about Conspiracy theory in general and people here's thoughts on the subject.

What's the point of it?
What has it achieved?
What can it achieve?

You make a thread you already had one person in a way belittle you about how you worded something, that may be a conspiracy in itself to discourage new blood here , it's probably not but a person could look at it like the person is a internet bully, a asshole , or a agent to take this forum down

I just don't get how conspiracy theory in general can be about selling books and dvd's?

Whats the point in the English language? Is it just to sell books and dvd's?

If I may be sarcastic for a moment, is the point of CT:
Depopulation, to get people to stop getting vaccinated?
to stop people leaving the house (chemtrails)
to keep people living in fear and paranoia, suspicion etc?
to re-brand religion and religious superstitions in 21st century packaging?

That would be another conspiracy theory on top of those conspiracy theories wouldn't it?

That's all people who are conspiracy theorists do, write books, go on radio shows, give lectures, build websites, sell DVD box sets, is that the only point of Conspiracy Theory?

A lot of people do that and they're greater in number than the conspiracy theorists :)

It seems as though you've taken something personally and are being defensive andyh?
I think you'd agree the point of a book on Zoology is quite self evident, what is the point of books on CT?
Is it just to make people wealthy?

What is the point in books on ANY subject?

The point in a book on zoology is to make the author money is it not?

If you never publish a book does that infer that you are not a 'CT' ?

The point of a book differs, I guess for non-fiction the point of a book is to impart knowledge, so the point of a book on cookery, would be to improve one's ability to cook, a book on C++ would be to enable somebody to program, the point of a book on physics to teach physics.
So you could say the point of a book on CT is to teach people Conspiracy Theories, what would be the point of that?

Conspiracy theory is there for the clever folk who see the net we are trapped in.

So when they jump out of the first net, they land in the second one, but think themselves clever for having escaped the first net.

It's a pity the second net conspiracy theory, is even more of a headfuck than the first one ever was.

You asked.

That is quite possibly, the best description of conspiracy theory I have ever heard :cool2:

I think it's a serious question.

Sunday night rant!

My own opinion is that one of the big problems facing us right now is that there is no ideology. Years ago, you had anarchists, socialists and communists and then you had various groups of fascists and the capitalist liberal democracy types. Capitalism won big time and heralded the 'end of history' and in the meantime a particularly unpleasant form of neo-liberalism developed that has become so deeply engrained it's all but invisible. Watch the telly. What's 'good for business' is automatically a good thing. What's good for employers is automatically a good thing. What's 'good for the economy' is automatically a good thing - yet 'the economy' is far removed from, say, the lives of people in sweat shops when the South Asian tiger economies were booming.

Far right KKK types have lost because homophobia, sexism, racism etc are no longer seen as acceptable. Suddenly, those of a totalitarian mindset are all bleeding heart liberal champions of free speech because they've suddenly found their scapegoating doesn't cut it any more and they have to whine about wanting more freedom to be a bigot.
Capitalism doesn't care about these issues. Gay liberation means the pink pound. The civil rights struggle has become multi-millionaire R'n'B stars selling you an aspirational lifestyle. Working women increases competition for jobs and makes needing two incomes to run a household the norm.
The far right are in a mess and reduced, in the UK, to the collapsing and politically incoherent EDL for their main voice.

The far ;left is moribund. There is simply no far left organisation of any note, Particularly once you subtract the people who only care about having counter-demonstrations to people like the EDL and nothing else.

In the conspiracy world we keep hearing about overcoming 'the left-right paradigm' - generally from right wing people like Alex Jones. TPhe rhetoric is a fig leaf to hide the fact these people are generally right wingers and, beyond their rhetoric, don't really want to change anything apart from getting the alleged Satanic, pedophile, lizard, whatever people out of government, in which case everything will be dandy. None of them really want to change from a capitalist system. None of them want people to organise on an ideological basis. None of them really want to make waves. Icke can accuse whoever he likes of being a blood drinking lizard - he knows damn well nobody could be arsed to take him to court because it would be a waste of their time.

There is nothing wrong with CTs, just as there is nothing wrong with football, computer games, reading novels or watching films. Cts can be be very interesting. But the government don't give a shit if you think the moon landings were faked, JFK was not killed by Oswald or 911 was an inside job. Any more than they care if you think the Loch Ness monster is real, Sasquatch exists or aliens built the pyramids. .
They do not care if you spout some babble from Rob Menard - because they know it doesn't work and could never work.
They don't care if you refuse to believe an aircraft hit the Pentahon on 911 - how does somebody looking at pictures on the internet and declaring there wasn't enough wreckage event affect them?
They don't care if you think they're satanists and put symbolism everywhere - what difference does it make even if that were true?
They don't care if you think every major human made catastrophe is a false flag and you think the people involved were all actors - hpow does people theorising about it on the internet affect them?

What they are frightened of is ordinary people getting together and starting to do stuff. For people to do that, they need some kind of underpinning ideology. They need to know what they're aiming for, even if only in a broad sense.

Take Icke, He 's supposed to be a 'researcher'. He simply re-hashes a load of other people's conspiracy stuff and writes thick but highlu superficial and sweeping books that make it very evident he hasn't got a clue what he's going on about. Like not long ago I was flicking through 'and the truth shall set you free' and he was going on with some bullshit about how Marx had invented 'problem, reaction, solution' which was his interpretation of Marx 'turning Hegel on his head' - thus demonstrating he understands absolutely nothing about either Hegel or Marx. Half the time, the guy just has no idea what he's going on about.
But what's he offering? Come to Wembley. Hear an inspirational talk about how we're all one consciousness or whatever and then go home to your normal life feeling all energised. You may as well go to an evangelical church - the end result is the same. Feel a bit smug you've got it all worked out and the ';sheeple' just don't get it. And do what...?

Y'know, I'm not actually knocking conspiracies as such - they're interesting. But interesting in the same way as thinking about if ghosts have some kind of reality or if the Mongolian death worm exists. The last thing David Icke wants is for people to start agitating against the bosses - he'd be out of his comfortable little zone where most people don't take him seriously while he makes a nice living out of his fans.
I mean -

What a fantastic surprise made by David at Wembley tonight! He is moving us more closer to non compliance with the imposing system laws, control and other means of enslavement by the simple dance rather by arguing, hatred or fight with the falling system.Imagine if all of us just stop the supporting this ruthless cabal elite and say collective NO! Thanks so much David for what you do in awakening and uniting masses!

Oh right yeah. Sanctioned by the benefits agency and can't afford food and housing benefit no longer pays your rent anyway? Do a little jig.! That'll show em!. Wages going down, bills going up? Dance around a bit. That'll show 'em!. Bunch of gambling addicts who regard themselves as banking professionals crash the economy leaving you to carry the can while they get huge bonuses while claiming theirs is the only system that works? Revialise yourself by connecting with the electro-magnetic field and say NO! by prancing around like a nob. That'll show 'em!

Conspiracy gurus seem to me to be generally selling you one of (or a blend of0 several things things -
a/ Esoteric mysteries of the alien pyramids of Altantis ultimate infinite energy source of the brown eye of Horus
b/ IMMINENT DOOM! that keeps failing to happen
c/ Crystal healing chakra energy path to enlightenment
d/ It's all those guys fault - Rothchilds, Zionists, Jews in general, Masons, Satanists, Jesuits, cultural Marxists, lizards, whoever. Get rid of them and everything will be fine and zany outfits, hand gestures and triangles will no longer appear in pop videos.
e/ Ways you can cheat the system and avoid for paying for stuff by reciting the magic words, fierce individualism
f/ Intricate theories about how this or that event happened and why competing with a multitude of other theories about how this or that event happened and why and nobody can prove any of them so they run for decades.
g/ A few reforms that appeal to conservatives (Alex Jones)
h/ Secrets to health, cures for cancer, live longer by eating nothing, organic herbal viagra etc.
i/ You know that film the Matrix? I reckon the world is really like that. It's dead profound if you think about it.
j/ Secret ripping yarn history of world events that makes everything much more exciting and simple
k/ Whatever is 'mainstream' must be wrong. For example, it used to be fashionable to be concerned about global warming when governments wouldn't accept it, now governments talk about it people like the Koch brothers and Exxon are fighting the cause of truth and justice against the scam.
l/ You can't trust government or the media. Therefore..........was an inside job/hoax/lie

IMHO in the modern era CTs have become very popular because they fill they void left by a dearth of political alternatives and give disgruntled people something to believe in.

...but that was my sunday night rant and isn't intended to be a confrontational attempt to start an argument.
