The winning line is here:

( 23. Rg1 Qxg1+ 24. Rxg1 Rxg1+ 25. Kxg1 Rd1# )

Fucked up there at 50.
Can't seem to find a final sequence. That bishop was a right pest in the middle so I'd considered taking it and possibly your other rook in a couple of moves by playing rg4 at 47. You'd still have material advantage though & would probably win form there.

I know you were trying to win, but you over-estimated your chances. You could have had a draw after 38 moves, just keep putting the rook on h6 threatening mate and there's nothing I can do but repeat moves. If I moved the king to e8 then you could move your other rook to g7 and threaten mate there. Either way, I can't do anything other than move the king backwards and forwards to avoid mate.

Yeh I saw the draw as well but I'd hoped to either bully you into a poor position or to win the rook in the corner somehow. It's difficult when you're a main piece down so I was just pleased to be able to gain an attacking position.

The pawn moves were really good, I didn't see that at all. The bishop was just a very useful piece on the long diagonal.

Well done. I could have carried on in the hope of an error, but it would have been a bit unsporting, and highly unlikely that you would have made one, when you were completely winning in every possible variation. I could have resigned after blundering my queen, but I didn't think you'd want to win that way, so I did my best to rectify the situation.

You don't get a draw quite so easily in the other game, though, you have to suffer now!

If you hadn't made that early mistake, you'd probably have won again! Considering we've had 15 or whatever games, I think that's the only game changing blunder you've made, which is pretty impressive.
I'm sure you'll sneak a way through eventually in the other game as your position is slightly better, we'll have to see how it goes.

It was just sloppy play, it just goes to show that you have to pay attention in every position. Your play's improved a hell of a lot now you've had some practice so I'm sure we'll have much closer games from now on.

I've not played for literally years so I've been very rusty!
Have you subscribed to the site btw? I noticed that you've used more than 1 conditional move a few times whereas that's all it will allow me.

No, are you sure you're doing it correctly? It lets me make as many as I want seemingly, and to enter different lines as well.

It says when I go to try to create a 2nd conditional move that it requires membership upgrade.
I've not tried the new lines thing actually, I'll have a look at that,

Ok, I give up in that one now. :D I played a couple of poor moves in the ending there & there was no way back.
I thought at one point you might pen yourself in or I might get a stalemate. Nevermind.... another notch on your bedpost!

I have seen that message about only being able to make one conditional move, but it just seems to have gone away now! I'm not sure why, but I can seemingly make as many as I want.

Well played again. I took a gamble there sacrificing the rook for the knight but it gave me a very strong position and I thought I'd be able to find a mating move from there, but your counter-attacking play saw it off & I knew once the queen sacrifice was inevitable I would lose my position.

I think that was the best game we've played, you had a dangerous attack and I had to defend quite accurately. I thought that before I looked up the analysis, but the analysis confirms it, just one blunder. I've underlined where I think this is, you did drop a piece at one point which I missed. Apart from that it was a very good quality game, I had to tread very carefully for at least a dozen moves.

Inaccuracies: 8 = 22.2% of moves
Mistakes: 7 = 19.4% of moves
Blunders: 1 = 2.8% of moves

I'm sure there was a mate in there somewhere. That's a few games we've had now where I've held one move from mate but your counterattack has won the position. The computer analysis is somewhat flawed as it assumes that your opponent will make the perfect move, or the move that you identify your opponent should make as a result. It just doesn't work like that! :D

There wasn't a mate actually. I thought I'd defended quite soundly at the time, I really gave it a lot of attention because that pawn was very dangerous and my king position was quite insecure. And if you look at the computer analysis, there are no forced mates at all, and trust me, computers always see these! You can search for the checkmate symbol (#), and you'll find that there isn't one, so there were no mates ever for either side. Also that would have been another blunder. I'm sure that was the most accurate game we've played.
