This whole thread is fucking ridiculous.

BT was suspended for 2 weeks, he's now off suspension. If he breaks the sites rules again, report him. If he doesn't, brilliant.

Stop trying to see who can piss the highest and just get on with better things.

FWIW, I agree that our news pages shouldn't be filled with headlines from MSM papers. Look at Ickey. All his headlines link to the exact papers that he claims are nothing but nonsense and lies. There are plenty of alternative news sites out there to chose from, you just need to be careful that the alternative news site hasn't itself used the MSM as their source.

So long as the source is cited, why does even it matter, so long as there are a variety of sources used?

It can be interesting to see what's being reported in the mainstream news, because it can demonstrate what spin & lies are being presented to the public.

I just hope that everyone who's critical of Marina's contributions is supplying her with links to whatever they think we should be reading.

I think all that has been proved here is that two weeks was quite clearly not enough.

Anyone can cherrypick to suit their argument BT and that's what you're doing regarding marina's articles. You're comparing the GENERAL view of the BBC and Mail as quoted by oi and using cherry picked articles to form an incorrect GENERAL view of Marina's articles.

There is no clique here, its quite normal for similar minds to share similar views yet you ignore this to make the attitudes of the majority cliquey. It just isn't the case.

I agree it's important to see what the MSM are sharing, but perhaps make it clearer that that is why the article is being shared?

I think Marina does a good job with the news as a whole, and if it wasn't for that "not a site for those that read the Daily Mail" line then I think people would be stupid for moaning. Maybe just get rid of that line? I think it sounds a bit elitist too, personally.

And in regards to cliques on here, I've found it to be anything but that myself. Most people seem very welcoming and accepting of new members.
