In addition to your list, I wish to add frequent boil water notices, tan water from the tap at times, $7 Cuban sandwiches, no redundant water pump systems, ever changing water disinfectants - the latest, and I'm not making this up: ammonia and chlorine; Got the notice from the water company about two weeks ago. Frequent broken water mains, people thinking pubs are 'an English thing', tractor-trailers driving the left lane, a cop ticketing me for not coming to a complete stop before turning right at an EMPTY intersection on a green, Rick Perry, being told that I can find "fill in the blank' down in Austin 80 miles south, wildfires, goats - everywhere there are goats! Why do they call some roads 'spur'? What does 'spur' mean????? An almost complete reliance on the military (in my area), it takes for-e-ever for people to get out of their cars, Budweiser and Clamato (well...... okay), 100+ relentless heat.

What I DO like is the general politeness of the folks, witnessing an accident where people actually stop and try to help, rent is dirt cheap and so is water and electricity (I'm from the East coast where they're much more expensive), polite and helpful store clerks (generally), chatting at the general store down the road, far more random acts of kindness than I've ever witnessed or experienced, oh the list goes on.
