Sorry but that’s absurd. If I am a complete and total maniac (an autard with daddy/mommy issues as this one seems to be the case) with a gun and I’m not supposed to ‘be there’, I just shoot my way in. Simple!
Security staff: “You’re not cleared, you can’t get in.”
Me: Bang! Matrix style right on the face — rinse and repeat to any idiot approaching me, daring to question my microchip/RFID is flagging me as an intruder or whatever, until I reach my target/s.
Is still false sense of security which ever way you cut it.
Mind you, I do understand that’s not what you necessarily believe in but non the less that’s certainly what they — as in: the masses — believe in (enough for me to lose all hope in any kind of human rationality btw).
The doors, as I heard, were double paned and bullet proof, so that is why people want to know who let him in or how did he get in because no one is owning up to it.
It's doesn't have to make sense when people are used to an irrational government who will bulldoze there way over common sense every time. And, mostly, when people are afraid. If people are afraid of their kids going to school or afraid of their kids getting abducted, they will welcome something that will help ease their fears if it is presented right and the more stressful the atmosphere the easier it is to fool people.
Yes, it is a false sense of security. But so is getting strip searched or xrayed before getting on a plane.
The main reason I brought up the subject (if that is your objection) is because I get a little annoyed when people start crying about their guns being taken away. And now there is a climate where Obama can actually be a hero if he doesn't touch the gun laws but helps the schools be safer at the same time. Maybe all this media brouhaha is just that to make him look like a good guy when he does not touch gun laws.
I can't see guns being taken away because as someone else said here (DG?) there are more gun owners than there are government thugs.
Also, to answer dubs question of what people are afraid of, I think some of them actually are afraid of FEMA camp scenarios of citizens being rounded up. (a la Alex Jones). And even government tyranny. The fact is they are probably more tyrannical today than they were in the 1790s.
