Nope....they are definitely scones...which are not biscuits...
I’ve said it before…I ordered a hamburger once in London, I was not positive it was going to be a “hamburger” until I had it sitting in front of me. You people are just WEIRD! When I am not positive what I ordered is what I think I ordered, there is some serious issues there :P

Well it wouldn't have been a hamburger....it would have been a beef burger :P

It's true - believe me, I know a scone when I see one.

When I was expecting, I had a passionate craving for cherry scones, and sometimes got up at 2am to make a batch. I couldn't even wait for them to bake properly, such was the desire's power & I'd snatch them from the oven partially raw. (As usual when expecting though, you can be ravenously hungry, and as soon as you've got food in front of you, a couple of bites and you feel full).

Those are scones (to us Brits anyways). :yup:

A scone is a scone in any country (apart from stars where she thinks scones are biscuits)

They are not scones, they are biscuits... they get slathered in white gravy! :chuckle:

Beef burger, hamburger... obviously the waitstaff knew what I was asking for once they heard my accent. I didn't even bother with a menu that time... I forget what the name of the place was, but it implied they had HAMBURGER's there (or that was my impression, and it turned out to be correct cuz I got a slap of beef sandwiched between bread) :chuckle: ...

Dawn... a scone is not a biscuit here... this is a scone here (or any number of dessert like things that I don't eat)

You backwards people you! :spank: get you food terminology correct! :D

Mikey... I can do the Italian, I have a pretty good idea of what I am ordering in Italy thanks to 13, almost 14, years of bugging the living shit out of an Italian. May I have some shipped here? :)

See, they're just wrong!!!

Gravy is specifically MEAT sauce - hence brown from caramalised meat juices etc.

What you're describing there is just a white, savoury sauce, like a roux. There's no meat involved, so it's not gravy.

That's correct DG, we pour whiskey on our stuff here and do it right :P

Bite me Gilly

And Mikey dear... I've shipped to and had stuff shipped to me from Italy, shipping is expensive. No, don't send any because then I would have to return the favor and a plane ticket might just be cheaper :O
