I've voiced my opinion to the management that the best way to deal with this shit is to just hit the delete button as soon as it appears.

Maybe we could make the world a better place if we all become better people... that sounds, a bit, trite? We have to make the world a better place, the trouble is we're distracted by all kinds of crap. We in the West are distracted with television, movies, music, junk food, fashion, sex, debt, "terrorism". The people in less "fortunate" circumstances are distracted by famine, disease, bullets, and bombs. Both sets of manufactured distraction serve to keep all of us unfocussed, beside ourselves? in a state of fear, anxiety, in a stupor.

Okay, thought of something... we wouldn't be distracted by trivial, superficial crap, so our focus would change. We'd concentrate on the real stuff. We'd see things more as they really are. It's easy to forget about starving children when you're sitting in front of the football with a pizza. It's easier to accept people being blown up and shot in far away lands when your government has convinced you they're the enemy. etc etc.

People do make choices, but those choices are very heavily influenced, by governments, culture, television, etc.

Why does the person feel the need to join the army in the first place?
