I kind of agree with ALL of the above
The fact that homosexuality (& gay animals) has been around since the dawn of the time surely proves there must be some kind of hereditary involvement - but what if that involvement was only like a disposition? That seems to be the way science is leading us with this.
So, if you had half the population as 'carriers', & the reproductive organs of the parents, or the unborn babies (themselves in the womb) orientation could be influenced, or even determined by, for example a surge of hormone... where does that leave us?
I honestly think of the young people/children now there are more that appear to be far less stereotypically male (it is mostly the boys) than when I was at school & certainly my parents/grandparents times.
Maybe that doesn't mean they will grow up to be homosexual though, I do realise that
I'm just very interested in the changing way in which people live - the huge mix of men's change of place in society, different family structures, working patterns of parents, and of course media & general openess in society - & also 'pretend liberalism', as seen in the gender neutral parenting thread.
& I'm interested in how the changes we make today out of convenience & "forward thinking" effect us later on.
The contraceptive pill & other hormonal treatments have been widely used now for, what, 50 years? Have they had any unexpected impact on our health? Is anyone checking? Would they tell us if there were found to be cons as well as the obvious pros?
Like the tobacco industry..... & I don't mean to do a Sheryl Crow, but was there any connection to CFC deodrants & a rise in lymph node & breast cancers?
& I know many are waiting to see - proper doom porn style

- how mobiles & wireless everywhere may effect us later on.
....Sorry I'm proper rambling now

.
It's like 2 years worth of thoughts pouring out 'cos on other forums the discussion has usually turned into a slanging match by the time I return on day 2
