I've just read a comment from Blue Tackler taking the piss out of Marina and her excellent work in keep the homepage current and I now feel this thread is warranted. I know I'm not admin etc but I'm not happy about this whatsoever so I'm sticking my neck out and creating this thread as I believe there is a general consensus and someone needs to take the first step.

As most of us are aware, BT was a the centre of a ban controversy when it emerged he was Cousin Frothy. Many (including Marina and myself) supported giving Cousin Tackler a second chance, believing that he'd changed his ways.

There have been loads of incidents since that could be classed as a nail in his coffin and I'd normally go to the trouble to link to those posts, but in this case I haven't felt it needed. Should anyone wish to post those links to help members make up their minds please feel free.

I no longer believe he should be given use of this fantastic place on the grounds that he's nothing but a troll.

Please cast your votes folks.

Just leave him I say. He's like the kid at the children's party that's running round hitting saucepans with spoons. Yes he's annoying, and yes no one likes him, but ignore him and he'll soon get bored and shut up. If you ban him he'll just come back with a vengeance.

I think the front page with the articles needs promoting a bit more because I'm sure there would be more contributors. Also it would bring others to the site and not just us DIF rejects.

Can I suggest the welcome message be replaced at the front, and the 'news' is given a small home in the bottom corner somewhere. Until decent reports are forthcoming.

No rules broken - just common decency - if we have to have a rule for that we are fucked as a species.

Last time he said he cried when we banned him. Im sure it's not true but you can pretend it happens this time too.

I've already offered my opinion elsewhere, but I will just say that I've seen this troll act a thousand times before, and it is never remotely clever or amusing. Attacking people and then playing the victim as if you’ve been mortally wounded when anyone responds. Constantly complaining about anything, everything and anyone on the site, but never actually offering anything constructive whatsoever.

In the recent comments about the news section, if he felt that strongly about it he could simply have PMed Marina with some news articles, and unless they were incredibly controversial then I feel quite confident that she would have diligently posted them as she did when I’ve had the time to PM her some. Has he done that? Of course not, because he’s not here for any constructive purpose. He’s just here to be an annoying tit. Having already broken the rules by having a sock account, with which he behaved like a complete tit, as far as I’m concerned we shouldn’t have given him a second chance in the first place. But I know that people want to give others a second chance, that's fine, but he can't even troll with subtlety. Mind you, people rarely can.

So if there are no rules broken, he can't be banned imo.

I will hold fire voting and give folk the chance to show some evidence of breaches that others don't regularly commit.

Why not create a Troll pit? He can't whine about censorship and can post any dirge in there and when people are bored they can throw him a bone to gnaw on. If he wants to be a clown let him earn his keep here and be the resident entertainment. If you ban him he'll just add to the sock army that keeps trying to get a foot in the door.

IMO Rules are for fools. It should be plainly obvious to anyone, with half a noggin, what is and isn't acceptable without laboriously creating rules for every eventuality - Surely common sense should prevail rather than an over reliance on rules. You can never legislate stupid out of existence...

He's been teetering on the line between annoying little fucker and troll for some time now, and I think that he's crossed that line. There are umpteen different things he could have done differently and each time (in my eyes) he's chosen the route a troll would take.

I've never heard of a troll pit, but it sounds like the answer to me.
