If the India connection is to be believed then could it be said that followers of Christ have been deceived or are they really 'Buddhists' in disguise?
Deceived in what way?
If Jesus had indeed been married, as like most men of his time and place, would that change any word of what He said?
Would that alter His sacrifice?
@Mandy Re: speculation about children: Would his marital staus even mean He was not celibate?
Is His celibacy even an issue? Since when has Christianity taught against sex within marraige?
Why are we so preoccupied with marital status or siblings? Is it just gossip?

Buddhism does indeed share many things with Christianity; most importantly the Golden Rule. However from my point of view, suggesting that Christ was influenced by Buddhism is getting the cart before the horse: it is true that Buddhisn is approximately 500 years older than the Apostolic Age but, you see, I believe He was God in human form with all that this implies.
I lived amongst a strongly Buddhist family (in-laws) , attended their funerals, cermonies and said their prayers. I have even been to a lecture given by the Dalai Lama: the similarities are more than coincidence: Buddhism affectd the Jewish people through the contact with India and the Hellenistic world and in many ways paved the way for Christianity.
However, I would not go so far as some who would suggest that Christianity is "buddhism" and not in fact directly related to Judaism.
I am also skeptical of some New Age Gnostics who would just love to remove Judaism from the picture altogether.
