Jan Scheuermann, who is 53 and paralysed from the neck down, was able to deftly grasp and move a variety of objects just like a normal arm.

Brain implants were used to control the robotic arm, in the study reported in the Lancet medical journal.

They've already made break throughs in sight and hearing Mr W so I expect the other senses are being R and D'd already..

Ok Dubs I'll bite cause it's the 2nd time you've addressed me in this thread, still haven't seen anything scientific confirming your beliefs?He says uploading is nowhere near in the first minute of the video, around 46secs, and even says there's no preservation method for uploading but that it is "near term"[whatever that means ].

What makes you think uploading human brains to a computer is 10years away?
Although I didn't watch the whole video I think you might slightly be exaggerating the guys influence

I think it fair to suggest people like this chap who is a major transhumanist activist are a bit more clued up than you or I on the subject. Quite prepared to accept that he and they may be exhibiting optimism though.
