If money was gold/silver or whatever else of physical value then it is constrained by physical limits which bankers cannot dick with. It is the only regulation govt ever need to have in regards to money but now the crap has gone on for so long the game isn't so much as tilted as falling off the table altogether. A small handful have 50% of the entire planetary GDP.
It doesn't need regulating now so much as a complete slate clean, its a complete joke of a situation
So now you're advocating local trade only?
Or are we going to start posting our precious metal payments all over the globe with no instant transactions outside or local vicinity? No internet payments or anything like that? Bit of a queue getting your wages if you work for a large company. That much hard cash on site every pay day? I spots potential for abuse. Especially in this day and age> I can see counterfeiting being rife with 100% physical money as well.
You know the not being backed by/redeemable in gold argument as well? Complete bullshit.
People don't need gold or silver these days, what they gonna do with it? As for those who would still like to redeem their notes in gold, its quite easy. You just buy gold with your money. Not redeemable in gold. lol.
The system ALLOWS bankers to dick with money as you put it. REGULATION is needed to prevent it happening. DEREGULATION is the last thing we need.
What you are talking about is the standard left wing authoritarian response.
If you want to end people dicking with money then you make it physical.
Yes it would turn the clock back but that is the price you must pay.
Again I don't see any govt ever enacting it any more than some more stupid regulations that got us in the shit to start with.
Gov works for the elite, it always has
