Its called engineered situation by design.
Salaries are set by the market quite deliberately at the levels they are because of action after action by the big boys very early on and they are just building on it now.
Small biz is fucked, either broke or bought up by larger business and that trend will do nothing but continue, there is nothing to stop it now.

I could go on and on ofc, but tory boy barnfish here thinks its their own fault.

Spare us the crap.
There is a joint fault between individuals, the banks and the government that has caused this (from your links)
"A YouGov poll commissioned by Shelter suggests that six in ten working families are already struggling or falling behind with their rent or mortgage. Previous research from the charity indicated that over a third of workers would be unable to pay their rent or mortgage for more than a month if they lost their job."
and this
"Millions of struggling families can only afford to eat by dipping into savings or racking up credit card debts. One in five households say their budget failed to cover food and other household bills last month.
I feel sorry for you if you are one of those individuals who gorged in the debt trough and have saddled yourself with big problems. But you are in part to blame. I can see how you feel enslaved as you are possibly teetering on the edge or are possibly fucked.
Those of us who were not greedy and were sceptical of the banks and government behaviour during the boom are fine. That leaves me free to do what I want, when I want to. I am not a slave to the system, I beat it.
