OK, before I 'do' Dawney, just a word about supplements.
It's all quite simple really...we're all individuals. So, take for example 5 people with flu, go to Dr's and he prescribes same anti-biotic for all 5 people. Now, on 2 people they just don't work, they get better all by themselves, 2 people after the initual 48 hours start getting better...maybe due to anti-biotics, 5th person....still poorly...goes back for more.

5 people come to me for a prescription....all 5 will walk away with a different 'prescription' as the underlying cause of getting the flu is addressed. Now some people wont relish the idea of using 'smelly stuff'' so a couple might go to a herbalist...but both of them will be given individual prescriptions, another 2 might go to a homeopath...again 2 different prescriptions. The 5th person might prefer to go to a Kinesiologist (another therapy I practice) because they want something more physical, rather than 'take' something.

So to apply the above to things like Evening Primrose (which has some horrible side effects on some people btw) this is why it works for some and not for others. Also instead of Evening Primrose I tend to recommend Star Flower oil capsules, no known side effects and I've never known enyone to say they didn't get some improvement to a greater or lesser extent. I found takling Don Quai absolutely brilliant too for all types of period problems from headaches to mood swings to irregularity. Again clients have reported improvements to greater or lesser extent.

Hope this helps....Off to 'do' Dawney

You're not wrong, some of them are very expensive. I've come a cropper trying a few supplements this year too, not for periods though. Kelp tables - itchy hives, Green tea extract - felt like I was on speed, Rhodiola rosea - oh dear, the less said about that the better.

Btw, my stomach is so swollen right now (day 3 of rag week), I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. Does that happen to you?

Yarrow is a blood cleanser and works directly on the bone marrow where our red blood corpusles are produced. It also helps with the absorption of iron and other vits and mins. Enough iron in your system and you wont crave chocolate during your period. and for some women chocolate brings on headaches/migraines during a period.

Fennel indeed is the aniseed one, and is a hormonal balancer and a tonic to the whole female reproductive area. Thus stopping cramps, quickly eliminates all that gunk etc. Do not use fennel in any shape or form if there is a chance you could be pregnant.

Yes, the migraines - joy!

Is the yarrow and fennel teas, or oils?

The one I tried was a yarrow & fennel (combined) tea.

Thanks for the tip, they sell it in the local lentil weaving shop. :D

Wtf is the swelling all about? I'm majorly distended at the moment and my belly still aches. The worst bit is that my scar starts stretching and it's rather uncomfortable. On the good side my scar also stretches when I eat too much. It's a bit like having a gastric band!

Be thankful he offered cake, Stars. My husband's miracle cure for everything is his 'magical' appendage.
